This is Piper.
She is my heart dog. Just 3 pounds of pure love and loyalty. The tiniest, most petite pup I’ve ever seen—and my constant shadow. She never leaves my side, except sometimes at night when she slips under the covers to snuggle with her daddy… but she always comes back to me.

Tonight was different. I was cooking dinner and going about my evening, and suddenly realized—Piper wasn’t right next to me. I checked upstairs, checked her usual spots, but she was nowhere in the house. Panic set in fast.

I ran outside and searched our yard, then the neighbors’. I finally found her two houses down, barking at the neighbor’s dog. Somehow, she had gotten out. And in just a few short minutes, she was gone from my side and could have been lost forever.

Let this be your reminder:
Even the most attached, stay-by-your-side pups can slip out without you realizing. Don’t assume “they’d never leave.”
I always assumed that with Piper… until tonight.

I’m so thankful I found her safe. Hug your pups tight tonight.

Let me give you the lowdown on my miniature monarch, Bruce Almighty, aka Brucie. This tiny titan weighs in at a whopping 4.2 pounds, with paws roughly the size of my thumb. What Brucie lacks in stature, he more than makes up for in dramatic flair. He's the Oscar winner of the bunch, instigating fights only to howl foul when the others retaliate. And boy, can he yell - more so than bark, and trust me, it's ear-piercingly annoying. Brucie's not a morning pup and fiercely guards his nap time. At mealtimes, he dawdles while the other two inhale their food, then proceeds to hover over his dish, side-eyeing the others while growling and throwing tantrums. This little drama king loves his toys, especially playing fetch, and if you're not paying attention, you'll suddenly find yourself wading through a sea of toys at your feet, with his beloved bear always front and center. That bear has been his BFF since day one, even when it was twice his size. I adore this pint-sized prince. I waited patiently for him, and the memory of Monica's text still brings a smile - 'I have your boy.' Here's to two years of Brucie's royal highness ruling our lives! It's his world - we just live in it! 🥳🐾💙
