As pet owners ourselves, we understand the special bond between pets and their companions. The goal of our veterinary clinic is to improve the quality of life for animals and the people who love them. Our Animal Hospital is pleased to offer surgical care, wellness exams, dental radiographs, and much more! We offer a wide range of services to ensure that the needs of your pet are met at all times.

We are proud to be a Cat Friendly Practice. We have an exotic doctor on staff full and are happy to provide wellness and sick care for reptiles (snakes, lizards, bearded dragons, etc.), amphibians (e.g. turtles), pocket pets (rabbits, Guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters, rats, mice, etc.), and birds to name a few! Located in Safety Harbor, Florida, our veterinarians are dedicated to providing outstanding veterinary care to our beloved pets, who enrich our lives each and every day!

Today is National Greyhound Day!
Greyhounds are a "sighthound", which means they chase game based on their sight instead of by scent. They’re well known for their agility and extraordinary speed but can be some of the most gentle dogs and make great pets!

We are a vet partner for Gold Coast Greyhound Adoptions Gulf Coast Chapter so we get to see the dogs right as they come off the tracks from up north to ensure they are healthy and have all their wellness services up to date before they are fostered and adopted out.

What started as a routine dental cleaning turned into something much more important for sweet Libby 💚🐾

When Libby's mom dropped her off she was expecting a routine dental procedure. But during Dr. Grennon’s pre-op exam, he felt something concerning in her abdomen and suspected she may have a splenic mass.

Because of this finding, Dr. Grennon recommended postponing her dental cleaning so we could perform an abdominal ultrasound and get a better look.

The ultrasound confirmed his suspicion — Libby did have a splenic mass. These masses can grow quickly and may rupture without warning, causing life-threatening internal bleeding.

We scheduled Libby for surgery as soon as possible to remove her spleen and the mass. Thankfully, surgery went great! Libby recovered perfectly without complications 🥳

And the BEST news? Her mass came back benign (non-cancerous)! 🎉

Stories like Libby’s are a powerful reminder of how important thorough physical exams and advanced diagnostics can be. We’re so thankful for our new ultrasound equipment, which allowed us to perform her ultrasound the very same day and quickly move forward with the care she needed to stay happy and healthy. 💚

🔥 Hot pavement = hot paws
⏰ Walk early or late to avoid peak heat

Heavy panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or acting “off” can be signs of heat exhaustion.

Fun fact: Maura (our veterinary assistant) favorite animal is otters. 🦦 Since she can't have an otter for a pet, she compromises by going to see them at the local aquariums and giving extra snuggles to all of our ferret patients that come in to see Dr. Grennon 🥰

Ultrasounds help us look beyond the surface and get a closer look at what’s happening inside your pet’s body — without surgery. Some instances where the doctor may recommend an ultrasound on your pet:

✔️ Vomiting or diarrhea with no explained reason
✔️ If they suspect there may be a masses or
✔️ Further assess abnormal bloodwork (like elevated liver values)
✔️ Check for bladder stones or urinary issues

There’s something incredibly special about meeting a new puppy from a family you’ve shared so many years with 💚🐾
