We are proud to be a Cat Friendly Practice. We have an exotic doctor on staff full and are happy to provide wellness and sick care for reptiles (snakes, lizards, bearded dragons, etc.), amphibians (e.g. turtles), pocket pets (rabbits, Guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters, rats, mice, etc.), and birds to name a few! Laser therapy is a great non-invasive tool we use to help in many different situations from post surgery healing to inflammation. Bowden gets laser therapy to help reduce inflammation in his elbow and knee joints which helps improve his mobility.

Bruno wanted you to know that tomorrow is National Bring Your Cat to the Vet Day. Since its not always their most favorite activity, cats need the reminder more than anyone. 😉

Cats are seen by a veterinarian far less often than dogs, and they are experts at hiding illness until it is advanced. It is important for all cats, especially indoor only cats to be seen by a veterinarian at least once a year.

Early Disease Detection Bloodwork is an important part of their annual visit to help catch early signs of chronic kidney disease and thyroid issues amongst other things.

With our exotic patients, sometimes we have to get a little creative to get the views we need. In this case, some foam blocks helped keep Slipper upright to get a good look at his lungs.

We are accepting new exotic patients for both sick and well visits! Many times, we can even get you in for a same day appointment with Dr. Grennon if your feathered, scaly, or furry friend is not feeling their best.

Peanut's mom said when she tells her its time to come to the vet she gets really excited because we're all her friends 💚 and we only give our friends the best blood draw snacks.. aka chicken churu! It was lip smackin' good 🤩

This sweet girl came in last week for us to get a small blood sample to run her pre-operative bloodwork before she gets spayed. We run bloodwork on all pets prior to sedation because even pets who look perfectly healthy can have underlying changes that aren't obvious during a physical exam. Bloodwork gives us important information about organ function, hydration, blood cells, and other factors like how well their blood clots that can affect how safely your pet handles anesthesia!

When it comes to anesthesia, we don't want to assume your pet is healthy—we want to know! 💚

We are still seeing lots of itchy pets this time of year. Grass, pollen, mold, and fleas can all trigger constant scratching or licking, red, irritated skin, hot spots, and even recurring ear infections!

Hope got spayed this week and her family asked for us to implant her microchip while she was under anesthesia! We even took care of registering it for her paw-rents!

Today is Check the Chip Day!🐾💚 A microchip only works if the registration info is current. If you have moved, changed your number, or adopted a pet with an existing chip, take a few minutes today to update it!

Not sure if your pet is chipped or where it is registered? We can scan and check anytime, just stop in anytime we are open!
