We spent yesterday strategizing on how we are going to fight for the contract we deserve this year. We need real salary increases, real AI protections, real Academic Freedom provisions, and more. These issues are not abstract - they affect how we live and how we teach. We were joined by our amazing SQE interns who understand that our teaching conditions are their learning conditions. Are you wondering wtf is going on with our contract?!? Here’s how it works: the csu refused to negotiate in good faith on our proposals so we reached a stage called “impasse.” That triggers mandatory mediation and then fact-finding to see if an outside professional can get us to the finish line. If we can’t get our contract where it needs to be for our members, we won’t be afraid to STRIKE! It’s more important than ever to join and get involved. We need to stand strong this year!
