REALLY pleased about these results and the “proof of concept” behind these three boys. Dirty Martini 🍸 is the full brother of Benny, Bug, and Charlotte and has a 100% “Normal” spine, certified by OFA as well as “GOOD hips. Earlier this year we posted his son, Bruce Wayne Pardi, who when bred with a Benny daughter, sired ANOTHER clear “NORMAL” spine with OFA GOOD hips. Her spine was rated 3 anomalies.

Now, when Dirty was paired with the daughter of Charlotte (his niece, Macy with 5 anomalies), he’s sired these three boys with two having only ONE spinal anomaly!

We’re scheduling PennHip evaluations soon to complete OfA CHIC, but the radiographs looked very promising already. I’ve posted about this before, but I’m leaning toward the conclusive Laxity rating that PennHip offers rather than solely based upon a subject rating. Not that I don’t find value in both, but I prefer the Laxity rating more for evaluating likelihood of dysplasia in offspring.

Exciting news! The boys started their OFA journey and my priority starting out was getting a look at the spine. As you know Dirty has a very rare 💯 clear spine and Macy carries only 5 anomalies. Two of the boys results showed only 1 anomaly and one boy showed only 5. Tangible results that thoughtful breeding can improve the health of our frenchie friends.

🌈 Rest Easy Jackson 🌈

One of the hardest decisions we have to make in rescue is knowing when suffering is something we cannot cure. Today we learned we could not take away Jackson's suffering.

Jackson was assessed by two specialists and the conclusion was the same; surgery would not fix his ailments. They discovered multiple areas of granulation in his throat caused by long-term breathing difficulty; common in brachiocephalic breeds. Additionally, they located a mass in his larynx. Neither of these findings could be surgically corrected😢 Certainly not the news we wanted, or expected.

Jackson's foster mom was with him as he crossed the bridge. He knew he was loved up until the very end.

Even in death, we have medical bills to pay. We cannot thank each and every one of you enough for your kind thoughts and donations. Please send a healing thought to his foster mom, We know her heart is broken 💔

Fun day at the ABKC East Texas Bully Classic 4, hosted by and Steven Hicks in Longview TX. Beep won two Best Female under honorable judges Errol Bodden and Jaimie Villagomez and Reserve Best Female under honorable judge Gina Moore. 🙏🏻
