How to Potty Train an Older Dog.

Tips that can help with housebreaking an older dog, from a adult, to adopted or research dog that has never been potty trained before.

Pick a place you want your dog to go potty, closes to the door, During potty training, you should always walk your dog to the same spot.

When you walk outside for a bathroom break, or play time go directly to this spot while on a leash. During play time call her or him to that spot and state go potty, do this several times when you are outside and every time you go outside with your dog.

Reward your dog if he or she goes potty, good girl, good boy ok go play.

Keep calling him or her over every few minutes and state go potty ( while out playing and romping around the yard,

Correct the accidents - you do not need to catch them in the act, they know what they did wrong, bring them to the spot show them and state no bad dog you go potty outside and bring your dog to its outdoor spot on a leash and state go potty. Be consistent. Your dog will soon be potty trained in about a week or so.
