A moment of pause in the pasture.

This Memorial Day, the 40 residents of Serenity Saviors stand in peaceful silence, honoring those who stood the line for our freedom.

At our sanctuary, we believe in the power of a "soft landing"—a chance to heal and live out days in security and dignity. We are forever grateful to the brave men and women who gave everything to ensure that we can provide this refuge for the horses and donkeys in our care.

Today, we honor their ultimate sacrifice. Our freedom, and the peace of the herd, is their legacy. 🇺🇸🐴

🐴 Update: Re*****on’s Heartfelt Third Act

We recently received a message that brought both tears and smiles to the barn today. It is a powerful reminder that the bonds we help create here at Serenity Saviors carry on, even through life's most difficult transitions.

Many of you remember Re*****on, who was adopted into the loving home of Kathy and Matt Halat. While we were deeply saddened to learn that Kathy lost her battle with cancer this past April, her spirit of compassion is still very much alive on the Halat farm. One of the wonderful caretakers (Andy) who worked with Kathy reached out to let us know that Re*****on is thriving. He has officially become her "heart horse," and she wanted to share that he is loved, happy, and living his absolute best life.

A Beautiful Transformation: Looking back at where he started, frail and in search of a safe haven, and seeing him now, strong and still enjoying afternoon rides, is the ultimate reward.

The Best Kind of Friends: Re*****on isn't just loved by his humans. He has a whole crew of his own, including another horse friend and two donkey best friends who are never far from his side.

A Peaceful Home: Whether he is relaxing in the shelter or enjoying the wide open pasture, he is a picture of health and contentment.

Thank you to the Halat family and his dedicated caregivers for providing Re*****on with the "soft place to land" we always dreamed of for him. Knowing he is safe and cherished makes every hard day at the sanctuary worth it.

What’s the temperature where you are? 🌡️

Let’s turn those freezing numbers into hay for the herd!

We’re running a "Donate Your Temperature" challenge today to help us hit our goal for the hay fund. With 40 horses and donkeys to keep fed during this cold snap, every "degree" makes a massive difference.

📌How to join the challenge:
* Check your local temperature right now.
* Donate that amount (e.g., if it’s 24°, you donate $24).
* Tell us your temperature (and where you are!) in the comments below.

✅️ Every donation goes directly toward keeping our hay stock full and our residents' bellies satisfied. Whether you’re in a "chilly" $18 zone or a "balmy" $40 area, your support keeps the herd going.

Keeping 40 equines warm during a cold snap is a full-time job. Our days are currently a blur of checking straps, hauling water, and making sure the hay never runs out. It’s hard work, but when you see a horse standing out of the wind, warm under their blanket and contentedly munching, it’s worth every frozen finger.

We are doing the absolute best we can on the ground, but we’re seeing our hay pile disappear faster than we can keep up with.

Can you help us restock the hay fund today? Feeding a herd this size requires about 13 tons of forage a month to keep them healthy through the winter. Whether you can cover one $8 bale or a whole truckload, every bit ensures we can keep these 40 promises fed and warm until spring.

Thank you for standing in the gap with us. We’ll handle the heavy lifting; we just need your help to keep the hay coming.
