The school year has ended and things are starting to get busy here! Here's some recent pictures of the fun we've been having (part 1 of 2 since we're only allowed 80 pictures per post).

Summer is in full swing, and we'll be keeping an eye on the temps here at PawLife. This means that during extreme heat, we'll have outside playgroups in the morning if temps are cool enough, but once it gets too hot, outside time will be limited to 5-10 minute potty breaks only.

Don't worry though, the babies will still get to play!! We have indoor play areas for the dogs to enjoy and stay cool. Stay safe, and make sure you know the signs of heatstroke to keep everyone safe! ☀️

We are activating our Dangerous Heat protocols at PawLife for the next several days while temps are expected over 90°.

During extreme heat, play groups will have outside time during the cooler part of the morning.

Once temps get too high, outside time is limited to quick potty breaks only.

We have indoor play areas for the dogs to enjoy and stay cool.

Remember, a wet dog overheats as the water in their fur heats up and acts like a blanket. Pools with COOL water are a great idea for cooling off but to avoid overheating, dogs need to be thoroughly dried and out of direct sun if staying outside.

Some other things to consider when keeping your dog safe during the heat:

🐾 check pavement temp when walking.

🐾 always have fresh, cool water available.

🐾 provide open shade while the dog is outside. A closed up dog house will be hotter inside and will not provide relief.

🐾 check on your dog while they are outside to ensure they are staying cool and safe.

🐾 dog breeds with short noses (pugs, frenchies, etc.) will overheat much faster.
