Felt like I was making good progress with figuring out how to assemble this building- it is missing its main framing. So I have been testing out different ways of putting it together with lumber framing instead of its original. Feeling good about this latest one, until we got wind Wednesday overnight to Thursday and it had gotten blown apart.
Before playing around with this latest assembly, I had thought I found a local contractor to help, but now I'm not getting a response. So onward and upward!
String Line is up to have a traditional pole-building assembly with the trusses and roof of this building. Determined to get at least half of it up before snow flies.

🎉BIG news! We have a prefab barn! 🧐Now onto the giant puzzle of assembling.

While the skid loader was here, I dug two ponds and swales to improve the flow of water - following the lay of the land- and build up quite a few areas of the track.

It was a super busy weekend unloading two trailers and truck beds of barn parts, plus all the time in the skid loader.

The beautiful weather allowed me to finish clearing the full length of the track today! Trees are cleared so the extension of the track is 12' W by ~750 L. Our two horses have a hay station further out, but I think it will take some time before they are more comfortable further out on the track.
So pleased to make some great progress today!

We said goodbye to our darling girl Cheyenne, last Friday. We gave her our best with the short time we had her.
She was having a very hard time moving comfortably in the cold, despite pain control and having episodes of her zoning out & seeming confused, so we suspect her PPID was caused by a brain tumor. No more pain for you baby girl, run free!

Tansy is back home with her owner, Kelley. She provided a very thoughtful review of Tansy's care over the summer:

"I boarded my older, metabolic Morgan mare with Tracy over the summer and into fall at their track-based farm. She came in overweight and on a very specialized and time-consuming feeding program to try and manage her Equine Metabolic Disorder, yet Tracy welcomed her in with no concerns about giving her the complicated care to keep the mare’s EMD in check.

After almost 6 months in the hands of Tracy and with living the track system life, my mare has lost the excess weight, and no longer requires the specialized hay regimen of soaking, weighing, and monitoring. She is enjoying a much more normal life than she had before, all thanks to her healthy sojourn on the track and under the thoughtful care of Tracy. I loved all the updates, pictures, and videos, as well as the regular, timely communication on her care. She was always willing to step in and give help with the vet and farrier, a huge help I so appreciated. Highly recommend boarding at her place!"

I measured horses for winter blankets this past weekend. My TB/Welsh Lady, is down a a blanket size since being on the track!
She was always too large for 72", but 74" were always so big, and now a 72" fits her perfectly!
