I'm slowly (sooo slowly) going through rats. I'm trying to let all my last litters grow out before I make final decisions on who I'm holding back. The dwarf group has officially been sold to another fellow breeder.

On a fun side note, I brought in this sweet guinea pig that I named Mavy the cavy. From her past situation it was possible she was going to be pregnant, which is fine. She's safe here.
Well she popped! And out came the 3 cutest babies in the world! At 3 days old they are just so sweet and adorable. I love guinea pigs and may eventually get into showing them like I do the rabbits. But that'll be way in the future. For now I'll enjoy Mavy and her babies.

Announcement:
I have put off making this decision for a long time. It's not one I have wanted to make and it's heartbreaking for me.
I will be drastically reducing my rats as of now. I will no longer be raising dwarf or martens for sure, and will be lowering my numbers to only one rack for the time being.
Unfortunately over the last 2 years my sensitivity to them has only gotten worse as time goes on. I've had to see doctors multiple times and get so many prescriptions to try and counter this. It's becoming a monthly thing and I just can't do it anymore.
I'm hoping that with a decrease in numbers I can continue with the other varieties. Time will tell, but I need to be prepared to be done raising rats completely.
The mice, interestingly, do not give me a reaction at all and I would love to continue with them, but my fear is that I won't be able to support my mice breeding without the rats. Again, time will tell. As for now I'll still have my mice and I'll try to raise the marble, velveteen, rex and roan rats.
I am taking a short breeding break. This was planned before I made my decision. I'm giving everyone a break, will spring clean and readjust my breeding goals and hopefully be at it again by May.
During this time my mice will still be breeding and I'll have plenty available.
Thank you all!

These girls are available as well.
I've also got a nice agouti, as well as another texel and angora. I love the burmese doe and what I believe is a splash burmese.

Look at the coats on these girls! I'm really happy with the quality I'm getting in my does. Some sweet texels and angora.

He's a dove satin angora and at only 8 weeks old his fur is coming in nicely and he's getting some nice size (something I'm trying to improve on in my tri, angora and texels)

Anyone in need of an agouti marble buck?
He's a sweet boy, easy to handle and 8 months old. He'll need to strictly be bred to nonmarble does.

These little velveteen boys will be ready for new homes in a few weeks. They are so sweet and just adorable!

As much as I love this time of year, my rats do not. There's just something about the huge change in daily temperatures, and the fact that it got cooler fast that always seem to give them little sneezes. Today I brewed my handy, dandy immunity boost for them. Without fail, this stuff keeps them from actually getting sick and getting them through the changes.
And don't worry, I've got a heater running all winter to keep it comfortable, and a vent fan to keep the air clean and circulating. As well as a completely insulated shed. It's just not 80 degrees anymore.
The brew is simply stepped oregano, ginger, garlic and turmeric. Then diluted to about 1:1.

I've been really happy with this boy. He's 6 months old and still has kept his coat (something I'm slowly working on). I love his head and face. I've added a couple new does in with him to help with the ears. Gotta enjoy the work in progress though.
