tis' the season!!
we are sick, our kids are sick, might as well make a comeback with all the dog sicknesses!!!
as it is known parvo has been making its way in and around western maine!! its very important to vaccinate you pups against this as it can be deadly!
kennel cough has also made its arrival! with dogs coming from all areas of maine, different daycares, and with a variety of different backgrounds we try our hardest to keep the salon clean and disinfected!! while i do this often and try and keep a tight salon where pups don't have contact with other clients, it's not always possible to prevent the spread of this! dogs can show no symptoms and still spread this doggy cold!
possible indicators your dog may be sick and needs to stay home: bloody stool, vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, sneezing, ect! i know it's tough to get back in my schedule but i do ask if you do see these signs you stay home!!
with that being said it is also the season for flea and ticks! in whatever way you decide is best for you pup make sure you are protecting them against these pests and checking for them often!!
in summary: vaccinations are still required at my salon, healthy pups is my goal, and ticks are the worst part about warmer weather 🫡
you all are the best clients i could ask for and i need your help to ensure the safety and health of everyone that attends my salon!!
sincerely,
a groomer making it through the first half of mud season ❤️
