Why Regular Brush-Outs Matter in the Summer

"Doesn't all that fur make them hot?"

For many dogs, regular brushing is actually one of the best ways to help them stay comfortable during the summer months. When loose undercoat builds up, it can trap heat, restrict airflow, and make it harder for your dog's coat to do its job.

A good brush-out helps:

🐾 Reduce matting and tangles
🐾 Improve air circulation through the coat
🐾 Keep your pup cleaner and more comfortable

Miss Boots was all tail wags and puppy kisses today! 🐾💕 From splashing around during her bath to relaxing in her Happy Hoodie for drying, she was such a good girl for her grooming visit. Watching her confidence grow and seeing her adorable glow-up at the end made my day! ✨🥰

Sveinn the Colorado Mountain Dog came in for his very first professional grooming today! 🐾

This handsome guy had quite a bit of impacted undercoat and some matting, so we spent some extra time getting all that loose coat worked out. He was such a good boy through the whole process and handled everything like a champ.

There’s nothing better than helping a pup feel more comfortable, especially before the warm summer days. Just look at all that fluff! ❤️

🌾🐾 Foxtails are out, friends! 🐾🌾

With summer adventures in full swing, now is a great time to keep an eye out for foxtails. These little grass seeds may seem harmless, but they can work their way into your dog's paws, ears, nose, eyes, and coat, causing some serious problems.

After walks, hikes, or playtime in grassy areas, take a few minutes to check your pup over—especially between the toes, around the ears, and in those fluffy coats where things like to hide.

As a groomer, I find foxtails tucked away in coats more often than you'd think, and catching them early can save your pup a lot of discomfort.

A quick check today can help prevent a big problem tomorrow. 💙🐶
