Boyd Martin and Shanroe Cooley won the $60,000 Adequan USEA Advanced Final under the lights at the USEA American Eventing Championships on Friday, with the horse’s former rider, Liz Halliday, celebrating ringside. Halliday developed and campaigned “Dallas” before her accident in 2024.

“To ride him here in Liz’s hometown, in front of Liz, was very rewarding for me because Liz put her heart and soul into this horse,” Martin said of his Olympic teammate. “Nothing made me happier than seeing her patting and smiling and hugging her champion horse.”

We might be biased (okay, we’re really biased)… but we think we’ve built something pretty cool here.

Looking for a place where people are going to cheer obnoxiously loud for you? Where they’ll believe in you even when you don’t believe in yourself? We take our riding seriously, but ourselves? Questionable.

We’re not perfect. We’re real, we’re a little messy sometimes but we show up when it matters. We love our horses fiercely and they come first. Always. We celebrate the good stuff, we get each other through the hard stuff and you’ll always know you’ve got people in your corner.

To an outsider, this probably doesn’t look like much. Just a tiny jump on an ordinary Tuesday but turn the sound on. Listen to the people cheering her on.

What you don’t know is just a few months ago this rider was scared to canter. Today, she jumped this tiny jump. The height of the jump doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter that an outsider wouldn’t understand why this moment was a big deal.

It was a big deal because it mattered to HER and it mattered to the people around her too. They know where she started. They know how far she’s come. They know that sometimes it’s the smallest looking wins that are actually the biggest ones.

I hope everyone finds those kinds of people in their lives. The people who don’t measure your wins against their own. The ones who know what it took for you to get there. The ones who will cheer for your tiny jumps just as much as they will for your biggest ones.

I think it’s really easy in this industry to get caught up in chasing the things we think are supposed to matter that we sometimes forget to enjoy the things that actually do.

Our horses, our friends, our community.

Dr. Bri is back from her mission trip, so it's time to officially announce some exciting news!!

Hawk's Ridge Mobile Veterinary Services is accepting new clinets!!

A little about Hawks Ridge:
1. We are not currently offering primary care appointments. There are several amazing local veterinarians who I am partnering with that offer these services.
2. 1-2 days a week and one weekend a month we will be offering equine urgent care services! This isn't a service to replace your vet, but to help fill in during times of stress and emergencies. Urgent care days will be posted later this week.
3. I am also taking appointments for integrative medicine (acupuncture, MFR, CST), rehabilitation, etc. This can be for horses or dogs. If you have other animals in need, reach out and we can determine if I am a good fit.
