We know your pups love being part of all the fall fun—but please don’t let your dog eat the pumpkin after you’ve carved it!🎃🚫

Once a pumpkin has been carved and left out, it can quickly grow mold or bacteria that can make your pet very sick. 🤢

Even if it looks okay, it might not be safe!
✅ Safe pumpkin: Plain, cooked, or canned (100% pumpkin only!)

🚫 Not safe: Carved pumpkins, old jack-o’-lanterns, or pumpkin pie filling

Our Story

Ruckersville Animal Hospital has a long history in Greene County, VA. Originally opened by Dr. John Hayes in 1988, as Ruckersville Veterinary Clinic, it was run with quality and care by him until his retirement in 2006. Drs. Richard "Chip" and Caroline Godine purchased the practice in February of 2006, renamed it Ruckersville Animal Hospital, and have continued the long history of friendly, personal service as well as value to all of our clients and their pets.

At Ruckersville Animal Hospital, we strive to offer not only sound advice but also optimal veterinary care for all of your companions. Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn't feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy for many years to come.
