🐾 If you’re looking for the definition of a gentle soul, Teddy is your boy. 🤍

This handsome guy has the sweetest face and the most soulful brown eyes—the kind that look right into you and instantly melt your heart. He truly does 🤍

Teddy is about 3 years young and weighs around 65 lbs—the perfect size for cuddles (and yes… he loves to cuddle). He’s the kind of dog who will lean into you, wrap you up in his love, and even give you the sweetest hugs.

Meet Ruffus 💛

Out of the 5 dogs we were trying so hard to save, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to choose just one for now — and we chose Ruffus.

Right now, Ruffus urgently needs help. He is covered in ticks and has developed a skin infection (pyoderma). The veterinarian believes it is most likely caused by poor nutrition, prolonged exposure to damp living conditions, and untreated skin parasites from his previous environment. Thankfully, it appears to be treatable and manageable with proper medical care, nutrition, and a safe place to heal.

We have already asked the vet team to shave him down so treatment can begin immediately. At this time, we still do not know the full extent of his medical needs. He will need a complete veterinary work-up, ongoing treatment, vaccinations, and neuter surgery.

Despite everything he has endured, Ruffus is an absolutely beautiful Golden boy with the sweetest soul.

What staff at the detention center have shared about him:
• Approximately 5 ½ years old
• Extremely intelligent
• The perfect mix of playful and gentle
• No food aggression
• Friendly with both people and other dogs
• Never starts fights and is respectful and submissive around other dogs
• Truly kind-hearted and well-mannered

Dogs like Ruffus deserve to know love, comfort, and safety. We are committed to helping him heal — and we are still desperately trying to raise funds to save the other 4 as well.

Euthanized for space.

That’s the reality right now — not because these dogs are aggressive or sick, but because the shelter is over capacity.

We’ve begged for fosters. We’ve pleaded for adopters. And still, Palm Beach Animal Care & Control is overflowing.

Every dog shown in this video is adoptable and waiting for their person.

Before pointing fingers at the shelter, understand this: this is a community problem.
Too many excuses:
“My dog accidentally had a litter.”
“We gave the dog away months ago.”
“We got a new puppy and the older dog wasn’t adjusting.”

Meanwhile, the shelter capacity is 118… and they recently reached 180 dogs.

These dogs do not deserve to lose their lives because there is nowhere left to put them.

Please foster. Please adopt. Please share.
One person stepping up can literally save a life.

These dogs are at Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control and they need help NOW.

We have an online fundraising opportunity coming up for the month of June- But we need some gift cards first to raffle off. Any amount is much appreciated. Our funds are dangerously low and we need help to rebuild our emergency fund.

Every day, My Why Rescue fights for dogs who have been abandoned, neglected, injured, sick, or simply forgotten. From tiny puppies needing emergency care to senior dogs waiting patiently for a second chance — every rescue matters.

These sweet faces are why we do what we do.
