🐾 Gilbert-

Oooh sweet sweet senior boy. We don’t know what your past life was like but we know you have a bright future ahead because a foster said Yes!

🐾 We were able to help save Gilbert and he came home yesterday. He had a nice bath, his foster mom made him chicken and rice and he slept well last night.

🐾 As soon as we can, we will get him seen with a vet to address all his medical conditions. If you’d like to help donate towards his care, you may do so at the following links below ⬇️

🐾 Rosita- ADOPTABLE

🐾 Sweet Rosita was picked up from ACC and brought to a fosters home. She had time to decompress and catch up on much needed beauty sleep. She had a visit with and sadly, the bloodwork confirmed she is heartworm positive. While she is getting heartworm treatment we would love to find her forever home. Treatment is covered under the rescue.

Here’s what we know about her:

🐾 Rosita is estimated to be about 3 years young and weighs 8lbs. She is sweet, loving, a bit timid at first, potty and crate trained, low maintenance, dog and cat friendly. Would do great in an apartment, condo, house, RV living. A patient person/ family for Rosita so she can slowly come out of her shell and feel safe.

🐾 Contact us for more information on a meet and greet- 561-818-8120. We can’t help another until she gets adopted.

** Adopters must be able to drive her to her appointments in Delray **

Outcome Date: Jun 20, 2025 14:26
Outcome Type: ADOPTED RESCUE

Samantha Urgent Rescue Pickup Needed by Saturday, June 21st @ 5:00 p.m.
Intake Info: A source reported finding a senior female canine running loose in the Loxahatchee area. PBSO advised that she has an injury to her ear. Once our officer arrived at the scene, he observed that the canine either had an ear infection or a hematoma. He then scanned her for a microchip and found a registered owner; the canine’s name was Samantha. The officer contacted the owner, who advised that she rehomed Samantha several years ago because she had to move. She stated she did not remember who she rehomed Samantha to. The officer asked if she wanted Samantha back, and she said no, as she was living in an apartment in a different county. The officer then transported Samantha to ACC.

Medical: Samantha is a nine-year-old spayed canine who has severe left ear disease. Her ulcerated otitis externa was noted, and she is unable to view the canal. There is severe edematous left pinna and surrounding tissues. Calcified otic cartilages and edematous pinna have cracked open at the point of the bend with thick mucus and colored otic discharge.
Samantha is heartworm-negative and vaccinated.

Volunteer Notes: volunteers noted that they did not have any issues leashing or walking Samantha through the kennel; she did not react to other dogs when they walked past her. She allowed our volunteers to pet her all over and also allowed them to use a washcloth on her face to remove all the crusty debris. She is a sweet lady; she would sit for treats, did well during baths, and was quiet and mellow.

Request to Rescues: A sweet and mellow senior gem, Samantha, urgently needs rescue help.
She needs to visit a private vet for her severe, painful, end-stage otic disease that requires surgical correction.

🐾 Rosita just left and has started her medication for heartworms. Doc also started her on meds for her ears. Her lab work at the shelter was dangerously high so we opted to run another test to make sure her levels have improved. To be safe, subcontained fluids were also done to ensure she is getting nutrients and staying hydrated. Lab results will be available tomorrow. We are hoping they have improved.

🐾 If you are able to help donate towards her care, we can certainly use them. As usual, people have pledged but sadly only two have honored them.

🏡 Max ADOPTED 🏡

🏡 A few weeks ago we had a wonderful lady call and ask about Max. We were honest about all this boy had been through and she wanted to have a meet and greet. After a few weeks of thinking, texting, and multiple phone conversations, she was ready to adopt him. We had another meet and greet and Max never left.

🏡 We are happy to say this guy has been ADOPTED!!

🏡 We checked in and asked how it was going, he follows her around, is a good listener, sleeps in the bed under the covers, loves to stare out the window (on the chair) and bark at people, loves to play with his toys and enjoys laying on the couch.

🏡 Thank you to everyone that has stepped up to help this guy during a very difficult period. Thank you to as we think socializing him there made him come out of his shell and start to trust people a bit. Thank you to everyone that sponsored a day in boarding. Thank you to all his supporters. We couldn’t have done it without YOU!

🏡 Lastly, thank you to Marie, his adopter for accepting him and understanding him. Rescue is hard but it’s times like this that make it all worth it.

🏡 Happy tails little buddy! We wish you the best life ever-

🐾 All dogs posted are available at Palm Beach Animal Care and Control. Most of these little ones are in K2. Have you been to the shelter lately? It’s hot and loud, no place for any dog to be- but here we are. Trying to spread the word and help the unwanted. Why unwanted, because sadly that exactly what they are. Once wanted by a family to now a shelter. Unwanted and homeless-

🐾 If you are able to help foster or adopt, please head to your local animal shelter. Contact a rescue to see if they are able to help as well. Most importantly, lower your expectations because some requests are a bit high.

We don’t know if they are dog friendly
We don’t know if they are cat friendly
We don’t know if they are potty trained
We don’t know if they are aggressive
We don’t know if they bark a lot
We don’t know if they ride good in a car
We don’t know their previous health conditions
We don’t know if they are crate trained
We don’t know if they are destructive
We don’t know if they are dog selective

The list goes on…..

🐾 We can’t answer these questions because once they are out of the shelter and they had time to decompress, their attitude and composure changes. This is why we desperately need committed fosters.

Please- if you have any questions about fostering, send us a message. You can also visit our FAQs about fostering on our website at www.mywhyrescue.org

Rescue covers everything, medical, supplies, etc… All we need is one or two to believe- Be the change- Their life depends on it-

Pupdate: ADOPTED

🐾 Max- Please share our sweet boy

🐾 We rescued Max from the shelter a few months ago and this poor guy is still looking for his forever home. Max would be best with a family, single person or older person that is active, patient, loving and understanding. Max isn’t a fan of sharing his toys or food with other dogs. He is dog friendly but slow introductions are best. Max is curious with cats so slow introductions and patience is what is needed.

🐾 Max is 17 lbs and about 7 years young. He’s potty trained and walks well on a leash- however, when Max sees another dog, sometimes he gets excited and pulls. He loves fiercely, he’s a protector of his owner, and he’s just the absolute sweetest. We know his family is out here somewhere and we would love to help find him the perfect home. His fosters have said nothing but great things about him.

🐾 If you have any questions or want to know more about Max please contact us. We know all there is to know about him.

Update: FILLED - Stay tuned for the Winners

☀️ June’s Calendar for a Cause ☀️
My Why Rescue Online Fundraiser Event 🐾

🐾 We’ve had some unexpected expenses come up this year, so we decided to bring back the fundraiser for the calendar.

🖊️ This is how it works- you pick a number on the calendar and that’s the amount you pay-

📌 For example- if you want June 15th, you send $15 and we will add your name to the calendar. Please don’t send the funds until we say the number is confirmed to you. Amounts can’t be refunded. Yes, you can purchase multiple numbers at one time.

📣 If you choose to pay PayPal or Venmo, we ask that you add a couple extra dollars as they take out a fee. Unless you hit friends/family then you are in the clear.

Winners- This month, we’ve decided to pick 4 winners. You choose the envelope. We have gift cards, gift baskets and money in these envelopes but the winners don’t know what is in which envelope. All numbers must be picked before we choose the winners. Winners will be notified by us.

‼️ Out of state ok to play 👍🏻 We can mail you your gift
