Ace 💛
A Golden Retriever Who Deserves the Chance to See
When Ace was first brought to our attention, we had two choices.
We could leave him behind and hope someone else would step in—knowing those chances were slim. Or we could say yes and send him on a flight to South Florida, where he could receive the veterinary care he desperately needs.
We chose Ace.
So on a flight he went, into our care and into a future he never would have had otherwise. This is the meaning of rescue: stepping in when it’s hard, when it’s costly, and when others don’t or can’t.
Once here, Ace was diagnosed with serious eye conditions in both eyes. He has cataracts, which cause clouding of the lenses and significantly impair his vision, along with persistent pupillary membranes, remnants of fetal tissue that prevent his pupils from functioning properly. Together, these conditions are stealing his sight.
Without specialized veterinary ophthalmology surgery, Ace’s vision will continue to deteriorate and could ultimately lead to blindness. The estimated cost for his surgery and necessary care is $4,000–$4,200—a huge expense for an all-volunteer rescue, but one that could change his life forever.
Ace didn’t ask for this start in life. But he deserves a future where he can see the world, chase toys, and live the joyful life every dog deserves.
Please consider donating, sharing, or helping in any way you can.
Every dollar, every share, and every act of kindness brings Ace closer to a brighter future. 💛
