Honey bee facts:
1. A honey bee can fly up to 15 miles per hour.
2. Worker bees (females) make honey and do all the chores.
3. A honey bee visits 50-100 flowers in one trip. Pollen is packed into special baskets on their legs.
4. A honey bee worker only makes an average of 1/12 of a teaspoon in her lifetime which is about 5-6 weeks long.
5. An average hive has 50,000 to 60,000 worker bees.
6. The queen can live up to 3 years and can lay as many as 2,000 eggs per day.
7. Honey bees see in the ultraviolet spectrum.
