Hey all!
April 1 was the one year anniversary of mom being told I had to be put to sleep due to cancer. I have always been on the chubby side but the prednisone I had to take when I was sick and all the food they let me have because I was dying, made me even chubbier. However, we have been working on it and I have lost a little weight. I still have my incontinence issues off and on and take medication for that. Now my latest hurdle is diabetes. :( Two weeks ago I was diagnosed and they started insulin twice a day which I really don't mind it just makes my ear flicker when the injection goes in.

Otherwise, I spent the day at the vet last week and my levels looked pretty good for early into treatment. I need to see the vet in the next few days because I have been limping more than usual on one of my back legs (I have arthritis but this feels like something more).

Despite all I have been through, they say I have been a GREAT patient! They used to say I acted like a cat because I spent most of my time upstairs (in what they called '"Macey's room") looking out the window guarding our house. I mostly only came downstairs when it was time to eat or get pets or go for my walk. Since being sick I have not spent one day upstairs and instead choose to spend as much time as I can with my family and I still look forward to each day: barking and guarding the house and going on my adventurous walks. Oh, and EATING. :) Looking forward to Spring weather when I can do some hunting in the wetlands.

Thanks to everyone who follows my page! I was never big on making new friends but since being sick last year have learned that it is a nice thing!
(PS: To anyone with diabetic pets, where do you get your insulin?)

P*e? or Treat? They told my parents to put me to sleep because I had cancer. They suggested it be done that day or at least not to wait more than a day or 2. I WAS VERY sick - but apparently, it was not cancer. The good part was they fed me all kinds of people food during those weeks! Despite all the people food, my FAVORITE thing was still Basket brand biscuits! Now, they call me chubby (I know, I am fat, but they think "chubby" sounds cute) but I am also as spunky as ever!

After a long day of snacks, pets, love, cuddles, hard work as a watch dog, barking at both Fed-ex AND UPS, 2 different dogs passing the house, various kids passing by in costume and even coming on her property, visits to neighbors for treats, a nice dinner and more pets and love and cuddles...

It is ESPECIALLY peaceful to be listening to Macey's snoring at this wee morning hour of November 1, 2017 as it marks the SEVEN month anniversary of us being told to put her to sleep. May tomorrow bring another day like yesterday and many more!
