It is official now that Buttercup has gone into heat in Texas that she is not pregnant, which means Oakes Family Golden Retrievers has officially ended its breeding services. The website will be gone soon. This page will remain for the memories of 10 years of wonderful memories. Exceptional AKC Golden Retriever Available for Rehoming – Meet Charlie! 🐾

We are looking for a wonderful new home for our boy, Charlie, a 5-year-old male Golden Retriever. Charlie is a smart, loving, and handsome dog who has been a great part of our family.

The Details:

Pedigree: AKC Registered with papers. Breeding rights are potentially available for the right situation.

Health: He is current on all vaccinations. (Note: He is an intact male and is not currently microchipped).

Personality: Extremely loving and intelligent. He has a great temperament and is used to being around children and other dogs.

Current Lifestyle: Charlie is currently used to a kennel and yard lifestyle, but he is smart enough to transition into a full-time indoor "house dog" with just a little bit of consistent training.

Why Charlie is Available: Our family is preparing for a move to Texas. We are already bringing two of our adult dogs with us, which is the absolute limit for our transition. Because of this, we want to find Charlie a home where he can get the attention and space he deserves.

We are looking for someone who understands the Golden Retriever breed—whether you are looking for a loyal companion, a family dog, or are interested in his breeding potential.

Update: Sammy has been rehomed. We are currently seeking to rehome our intact male Golden Retriever named Charlie.

🐾 Meet Sammy! 🐾
Sammy is one of the sweet moms from our program, and she’s looking for her next forever home as we prepare for our move to Texas. 💛

Born on 2/18/21 from Bella & Biscuit’s litter, Sammy has grown into a beautiful 5-year-old girl with that classic golden coat—smooth, silky, and right between a Golden Retriever and a Labrador.

She’s got a personality to match her looks—just like her momma! Sammy is happiest when she’s carrying something around in her mouth (sometimes just because she can 😉). She’s gentle, loving, and has been an incredible mom to three litters of beautiful puppies.

All puppies have officially found their forever homes! 🐾💛

Frito has been spoken for, which means this entire litter is now placed—and we couldn’t be more grateful. What an incredible journey this has been from start to finish.

Congratulations to all of the amazing families who welcomed one of these sweet Golden Retrievers into their homes. It means so much to us to know each puppy is going to be loved, cared for, and become a special part of your family.

Thank you to everyone who reached out, shared our posts, prayed for the pups, and supported us along the way. Raising this litter has been a true joy, and your encouragement has meant more than you know.

Another happy “gotcha day” to celebrate! 🐾💛
Congratulations to Douglas from Circle, MT on taking home their beautiful girl Bella this past Wednesday, March 25th! We love seeing these pups head off to such great homes—it never gets old.

With another puppy placed, that means we’re officially down to our final pup from this Montana litter… Frito! 🐶

Frito is an AKC purebred Golden Retriever with an awesome personality—playful, curious, and always ready for an adventure, but just as happy to relax and cuddle by your side. He’s the kind of dog that quickly becomes part of the family (and probably thinks he runs the house… in the best way).

✔️ Healthy, happy, and ready for his forever home

It’s been an incredible journey raising this litter, and while it’s bittersweet to see them go, we’re excited knowing each one is landing in a loving home. Now we’re just waiting for the right match for Frito.

Congratulations to Cassandra from Bozeman, MT on taking home her beautiful girl Honeybee (formerly Peanut on our website). She’s headed to an amazing forever home, and we couldn’t be happier!

🐾 Vet Day = Cuteness Overload 🐾
Yesterday was the big 8-week vet visit for our golden retriever litter—and let’s just say… eight puppies in one room = equal parts adorable and absolute chaos 😂
They all received their health checks, shots, and dewormer, and we’re happy to report: everyone is healthy and doing great! After their appointments, it was lights out—lots of sleepy pups recovering from their big day 💤
🎉 The exciting part? They’re officially ready for their forever homes!
🐶 Three are heading home today
🐶 The rest will be joining their families throughout the week
💛 We do still have one adventurous little guy left—Frito! He’s the perfect mix of playful explorer and cuddly companion.

Big congratulations to Doug from Poplar, Montana on taking home Taco! 🐾
All of our pups had their 8-week vet appointments yesterday and are officially ready for their forever homes starting today. We already have three puppy pickup appointments scheduled—such an exciting day around here!
That said… we still have one little guy left. Frito is an adventurous, fun-loving male who’s also a top-tier cuddler (seriously, he majored in snuggling). If you’ve been thinking about adding a golden retriever to your family, this might be your moment.
