As the holidays sneak up on us, everyone’s in full prep mode getting the house guest-ready.

A little before-and-after action for you:

First up, this pedestal sink had seen better days. Since it was already broken, it was the perfect excuse for an upgrade. We swapped it out for something a little fancier with bonus storage. Big fan of this color combo too.

Next, we replaced several window sills in this home. Turns out the pups, in their younger years, preferred sills over chew toys. Good news is the dogs have matured… the sills finally get a break.

Lastly, this ceiling fan was mounted to a standard electrical box, which isn’t rated to hold fan weight (usually elec boxes are only good for 10lbs max). That’s a no-go. We removed the old box and installed a steel brace properly rated to support the fan, so it’s safe, solid, and worry-free.

Sharing a couple recent jobs from the week.

First up, this ceiling light fixture. The supports had completely given out (probably due to heat over the years causing the electrical box to crack and break). We pulled the fixture down and swapped everything over to a heavy-duty steel brace so it’s solid for the long run.

Next, shelving. People think shelves are simple, and they mostly are, but the details matter. Use the right hardware. Skip the cheap plastic anchors and either hit studs or use proper toggles so the shelf can actually hold weight. Then grab the laser level and make sure everything lines up clean both ways.

Lastly, a fresh faucet and a new TV mount. The original faucet was spraying everywhere except the sink, so the homeowners went with a similar style that actually listens when you wash your hands. The TV went up nice and clean, and they chose a cord cover to keep the power wire tucked away.

Happy Friday, everyone. Any good weekend plans, or are we all pretending we’re finally going to “catch up on chores”?

Here’s a peek at what I’ve been up to:

• The giant canvas of the week. This art was the same size as a sheet of plywood (just a lot prettier and lighter weight). Took some extra time to get it level (measure twice 😉), but once it was up, the whole room woke up.

• For the grab bars, we added wrap-around trim so we could mount them exactly where they needed to be. Yes, I did a couple body-weight dips on them. Yes, they passed.

• Framed out a builder-grade mirror and hit it with a matte black finish and a clean chamfer inside. Trickier than I expected, but it turned out slick.

• And then there’s dryer vent cleaning. Not my favorite task, but it’s basically the unsung hero of home safety. Glamorous? No. Important? Absolutely.

Some of you may not know, but one of my big passions is woodworking. Though “woodworker” can mean a lot of things, I really enjoy making smaller pieces, custom signs, coasters, trays, and other personalized projects. There’s something satisfying about getting in the shop, chopping some wood, and watching a plain block turn into something beautiful.

First up, I installed some updated coach lights at this home as they get ready to list it for sale. Gone are the days when buyers didn’t need impressing (remember those COVID times?). These days, sellers are putting a little extra TLC into their homes to help them shine.
Oh, and don’t forget about my little friend there 🦎!

Next, more cabinet hardware! I’ve found that installing hardware is oddly peaceful, it’s therapeutic work, and the finished look always leaves me feeling fulfilled.

Lastly, another dryer vent cleaning. This homeowner almost skipped the service, thinking it wasn’t needed. Their dryer was still working fine…for now…but once a vent starts clogging, it can quickly turn into longer dry times or multiple runs per load. So I’m glad we did perform the cleaning (needed). Staying ahead of it keeps things running smoothly and safely.

Another week, another round of satisfying upgrades!

1: Mounted this TV inside an entertainment center…precise measuring made all the difference. A clean, seamless look that fits just right.

2: Drilled and installed cabinet hardware. Black on white is always a winner. Simple change, big visual impact!

3: Wrapped up with a much-needed dryer vent clean (lint be gone!) and a sleek new gold faucet install. Adds that touch of class and luxury to the bathroom.

Whether it’s precision, style, or function, I’m here to make your home upgrades look easy (even when they’re not 😉).

Happy Monday!
Here are a few more recent requests checked off the list

First up — a new expansion tank for a water heater. The client had just finished a roof replacement when one of the roofers spotted a small leak on the tank. That’s definitely outside their scope, so I was able to swing by and take care of it. It’s always smart to give your home systems a quick visual check now and then. A small issue like this can easily turn into a bigger (and wetter) problem if left unnoticed.

Next, we installed these new pendant lights, they look fantastic! Bonus: they’re not glass, which means less dusting and cleaning over time.

Then came an outdoor fan install (and check out that nice décor outside).

Lastly, we updated bathroom mirrors and lighting. In the second pic, only the mirror was swapped, but even that small change makes a big impact.

Little upgrades like these can really freshen up your space!

1- Closet shelving upgrade – more shelves = more space without needing a bigger closet (pantry or laundry room).

2a-TV wall mount – getting it perfectly level is half the battle (and yes, we triple-checked 🧐).

2b- Dryer vent cleaning – vent was fine, but the crushed ducting was the real culprit. I always recommend checking your ducting and filter prior to calling anyone, sometimes it’s that simple. 😊

3- Ceiling-mounted TV – just in time for football season 🏈🍻. Bonus: it’s motorized, so it tucks away when not in use (and stays out of the elements).

A little variety in this week’s projects!

1 Swapped in a new drop-in sink with fresh disposal and faucet.
2 Installed another sink (this one an undermount) and gave it a shiny new faucet too.
3 Hung a curtain rod to display these amazing custom quilts (such a clever idea!) and added more wall art. (Really love this artist’s style too- Dolan Geiman).

Big or small, every project adds its own character to a home. 👌
