We currently have several leopard geckos in our rescue seeking foster homes. This species is an excellent option for beginner reptile keepers (and don't worry, we'll walk you through the care requirements & be there every step of the way!). Leopard geckos do require a diet of live insects, but are a relatively smaller reptile species and tend to tolerate handling well.

For the past few years, we’ve TRIED to take a short break around the holidays so our Board members and volunteers can relax… this year, we’re making sure it actually happens!

Badgerland Reptile Rescue will be closed for all appointments & meetings from December 22 until January 4. The only exceptions during this time will be for law enforcement agencies and Wisconsin or Illinois DNR staff, if necessary. During this time, it also likely that there will be a delay in responding to messages & emails, and processing any applications.

We appreciate your understanding and hope you & your scaly friends have a wonderful holiday season!

Reminder to ALWAYS use a thermostat with any heating equipment and ALWAYS make sure that the fixture is secured!

On Tuesday, four cats and several snakes were rescued from a fire that the Colorado Springs Fire Department said was caused by a heat lamp used on reptile enclosures.

Due to the extreme cold temperatures forecasted for this weekend, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our annual Pet Photos with Santa event in Kenosha!
