We are a non-profit animal shelter, located in Roswell, NM--the UFO Capital of the World!

We take in thousands of animals every year. We house stray animals and re-home pets given up by owners, that are placed in our care. We are NOT a no-kill shelter, but we keep our pets as long as humanly possible. We are a limited entry shelter. We have to adopt pets before we bring in any new pets. We vaccinate all pets for basic vaccines, although we do not vaccinate for Rabies. Our adoptions fee

All pet adoption fees are $50 (which helps to reimburse us for vaccinations and medical care, while in our care)

ADOPTERS ARE ALSO REQUIRED TO PRE-PAY FOR THE PET'S SPAY/NEUTER AT A ROSWELL VET (to be performed before being released to the adopter's home-no exceptions). Make sure to mention that you are adopting a pet from us, so you may receive a discount on the surgery! We take the adopted pet to your vet for the surgery, and you may pick up your new pet from the vet, after the surgery is completed. ADOPTION GUIDELINES:

All dogs must have fenced yards(appropriate for that size dog), and we DO check. All cats adopted must be strickly indoor cats. All pets (even young pups/kits) are spayed or neutered before going into their new home, no exceptions. If you have other dogs, you must bring your other pets to have a meet & greet here at the kennels. We are not funded by any city, county, state, or federal entity. We are totally funded by donations

DOG OWNERS: PLEASE don’t walk your dogs in the heat of the day. Stick to sunrise or closer to sunset.

We are entering our longest/hottest stretch of summer with highs near 100° for the next couple of weeks. Walking on the sidewalk is a no-no with concrete temps up to 130° under the sun. Walking on asphalt is borderline criminal with puppy paws burning quickly on 140°+ temps.

If you can’t put your hand on the ground without feeling pain, your pups can’t walk on it.

Remember S'More? He spent a very long time with us. Day after day, he hid in the back corner of his cage, facing the wall and living in fear. Most people walked right past him. They could not see past his shy and withdrawn behavior. Then, everything changed. An amazing adopter walked in, stopped at S'More's cage, and saw what nobody else could see: pure potential and a sweet soul waiting for a chance. Fast forward to today—S'More is now known as Levi, and he is living his absolute best life! We see a lot of heartbreak every day. Some days are very heavy. But stories like Levi's remind us why we do what we do. Thank you to the adopters who look past the fear and see the love. 🐾❤️

Meet Luna!

Luna is a three-year-old Labradoodle who is just incredible. She ended up at our shelter through no fault of her own because her family moved out of town and could not take her along. Luna is house-trained, oh so sweet, and ready to bring so much joy to her forever home. Could she be the right match for you?

This pup is guaranteed to steal your heart! Patches was brought to us as a stray. We believe him to be 3-1/2 months old and our best guess as to his breed would be pit/heeler. He is such a sweetheart and loves to nuzzle into your neck and be held. That’s not hard now but as he gets bigger, he might have to sit beside you on the couch to do it. We absolutely love him! As with any large breed puppy, he’ll need a a family that’s willing to train him, walk him and spend time with him. Training a puppy can be fun but it also takes commitment, repetition and patience. However, if you put the time in, you’ll never regret it and you’ll have a best friend for life. Some of you have been curious about Nessie’s size. This is the only other photo we have at this time but hopefully this will give everyone a better idea of her size and build. She weighs 56 pounds and is 19” tall at the shoulder. She’s not a huge girl, just a bit stocky. We encourage anyone interested to come meet Nessie so you can see her in person. We promise you’ll love this special girl!
