This cuddly kitty is named Hendrix! He is under our care for lily ingestion and has been loving snuggling up during his treatments. Here he is getting some lap time with our technician Katie.

Another dangerously hot day on tap

The National Weather Service has just issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the county for Friday Jun 29, from 11 am to 10pm. Your neighbors shared some great tips a couple of weeks ago on beating the heat and helping out those who are most vulnerable to it such as children, pets and those with medical conditions!

Remember that above 90 degrees fans can actually increase air temps in closed rooms through convection, putting you at greater risk of deadly heat illness.

Our website has some tips on how to stay cool, and how to recognize and treat heat illness. Heat stroke is always a 9-1-1 emergency.

Congratulations to our own AfterHours Veterinary Care staff member, Kristin, for receiving the prestigious Dr. Jack Walther Leadership Award! She was one of 38 students in the Veterinarian and Vet tech programs countrywide to earn this award!! We can't wait to see you shine as a Veterinarian 😁
