Adolescence is not the time to “wait it out.” It’s the time to train through it.

This stage can bring big feelings, selective listening, more independence, and behaviors that seem to come out of nowhere. But your dog isn’t being difficult on purpose — their brain and body are still developing.

So if your adolescent dog suddenly feels like they forgot everything… keep going. This is when the work really matters.

I spent over 20 years in corporate America before I found my way to this.

The path wasn't straight — accounting, consulting, grooming, life coaching — but every step brought me closer to the work that actually lights me up.

It all clicked when I hired a trainer for my own dog Ninni, who was reactive on walks and anxious around visitors. Watching her come through that with positive reinforcement training didn't just change her life. It changed mine.

On June 6, 2023 we opened our brick-and-mortar, and three years later I wake up every day grateful that a childhood love of dogs and one very determined pup named Ninni led me exactly here.

Congratulations to this week’s Reactive Dog Class graduates: Rei, Willie, and Dakota! We’re so proud of all the hard work this group put in to get here. We should have taken a group photo so everyone could see how close they were sitting together while staying calm and focused.

Weeks 3–5 are where puppies really start connecting the dots.

This stage focused on:
🐾 Starting recall training
🐾 Learning “drop it”
🐾 Exploring new places and smells
🐾 Continuing calm, positive socialization

The biggest thing? Confidence building.

Not every outing needs to be big or exciting. Small, positive experiences repeated consistently are what create stable, resilient dogs over time.

And yes… he’s still trying to put everything in his mouth 😅

Teenage dogs are a whole different breed of chaos

If your pup is between 5 months and 1 year, they're in that wild, energetic, I-have-no-idea-what-personal-space-means phase — and they need an outlet for it.

Our Adolescent Social Hour gives them exactly that. 60 minutes of structured play and socialization with other dogs their age, grouped by size and play style, and led by a trainer every step of the way.

And yes — you come too. This isn't drop-off. You get to actually watch your dog figure out the world.

📅 Every Saturday morning 🐾 Dogs aged 5 months – 1 year 💵 $29 per session
