It’s National Bite Prevention Week, and we’re all about helping you and your pup stay safe on your walks 🐾
One of the biggest causes of dog bites is leash reactivity—when a dog barks, lunges, or snaps due to fear or overstimulation.

Here’s how to protect your dog from reactive dogs:

✅ Keep your distance—cross the street if needed
✅ Avoid direct eye contact between dogs
✅ Use calm body language and a steady pace
✅ Learn canine body language to spot tension early
✅ Carry treats to redirect your pup’s focus

Knowledge is key to confidence. Let’s keep every pup (and person!) safe out there 💛

📣 Your Dog Needs Rest, Too 💤🐾

Just like us, dogs need balance—yes, even the high-energy ones! While walks and social time are important, so is downtime. Giving your pup space to rest and reset is essential for their mental and physical health.

Here are 2 easy ways to build in rest at home:
🛋️ Create a cozy "chill zone" – a quiet corner with a bed or crate where your pup can retreat without distractions.

🎶 Use calming soundtracks – soft music or dog-specific white noise can help signal it's time to relax.

Remember: A well-rested dog is a happier, more focused dog 🐶💖

🐾 Learning, Growing & Reconnecting at ClickerExpo! 🎉

This weekend, Anna, Colleen, and I had the incredible opportunity to attend , where trainers and animal behavior pros come together to share ideas, sharpen skills, and learn from the best in positive reinforcement training. Events like this fuel our passion for dog training and push us to think creatively about how to help dogs and their humans.

One of the highlights? Connecting with — one of my favorite trainers! I’ve taken his "Aggression in Dogs Master Course" and am an active part of the AGDM Community. His insights continue to shape the way I approach training. If you’re into dog behavior, his podcast, "The Bitey End of the Dog", is a must-listen!
