Be Ready for the 𝘾𝙝𝙪𝙘𝙠𝙬𝙖𝙜𝙤𝙣 𝙍𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙨 & 𝘼𝙧𝙠𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙖𝙨 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙃𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙚 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙬!

Now through August 31st, get 𝟭𝟬% 𝙊𝙁𝙁 Coggins tests and vaccines. These events bring horses from all over, and unvaccinated horses are at high risk for flu, strangles, and other contagious diseases. Vaccines take about a week to offer full protection, and Coggins results take several days, don’t wait until the last minute to book your appointment!

We’re so lucky to have Kayla on the PVH team! Her versatility, and compassion shine through in everything she does, whether she’s in the exam room, assisting in surgery, or giving extra love to a patient.

“I’ve been working part-time at PVH for the past 2.5 years. I started in the kennels, but now I primarily work as a small animal assistant. I help with a little bit of everything from working rooms to assisting with exams and surgeries. Outside of the clinic, I enjoy road-tripping with my son, Tyler, and getting lost in a good book. My full-time career is in teaching high school English, but I’ve never been able to walk away from my passion for animals. I truly love the team at PVH and the chance to be around animals every day.. it’s the best of both worlds.”

A few weeks ago, 8-month-old Winston came to us feeling miserable. He was running a high fever and battling gastroenteritis, and his family feared the worst.

Winston came in during our emergency hours, when every minute counted. With thorough diagnostics and a tailored treatment plan, he turned a corner quickly and is now back to being his happy, playful self.

Here’s what his owners, Kaylyn & Jordan, had to say:

“A few weeks ago he became suddenly ill, and we thought we were going to lose him. Every other hospital told us no or couldn’t see him until the next day. One call to Pallone’s and they told us to bring him in, and we truly believe they saved his life! Today he’s all better and it’s all thanks to y’all!”

We are gathering a final list of trailers for Equiflex, the rubber floor company. The previous price was incorrect. Trailers are $14 per square foot. If you want your trailer done, please let us know so we can get it on the schedule. The trailers will need to be brought to Rose Bud. Date coming soon!

In a never-ending attempt to improve our services and our knowledge, Dr. Pallone and Colleen Ellzey-Pallone recently attended Select Breeders Services Inc in Maryland for training on semen freezing for both equine and canine.

After this training, we will be an Affiliate Lab for SBS, one of only 23 in the country, most of which are located along the West Coast. This Affiliate position will ensure the very best quality control and support from the industry-leading company that has pioneered equine reproduction and cryopreservation.

The lab will be located at the Rose of Sharon Ranch new stallion facility, where Colleen and Dallas will stand stallions for breeding and cryopreservation.

Whether your horse is headed in for a lameness evaluation, joint injections, or a performance workup, a little prep can go a long way. Here are a few ways to help us help you:

𝑶𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒛𝒆 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒐𝒓 𝑹𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒔
•Have any recent imaging, past treatments, or injection history? Bring along a list (with dates if possible!) so we can track patterns and avoid unnecessary overlap.

𝑻𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝑽𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒐𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑮𝒂𝒊𝒕 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒏
•A short clip showing the change in stride, swelling, or movement issue under saddle or in-hand can be incredibly helpful—especially if it’s intermittent or not presenting the same on exam day.

•Tell us your performance schedule and what you’d like your horse to return to—barrels, dressage, trail soundness, etc. It helps us tailor treatment and recovery timelines more accurately.
