When agencies work together, this is the result, GREAT JOB to Oxford PD and Anniston PD K9 Zeus!! We are extra proud of K9 Zeus, who came from our Rescue to Resource program. K9 Zeus was found in the Fulton County Animal Shelter in Atlanta and had been partnered with his handler for nearly 2 years. Great job Chief Bill Partridge and The Anniston Police Department!

Cass County Sheriff’s Office
Media Release – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

While conducting a traffic stop on a 2007 Dodge Charger for a traffic violation, Deputy C. Martinez of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office observed several behavioral indicators and criminal interdiction tradecraft consistent with illicit activity. Based on these observations, Deputy Martinez requested assistance from the Atlanta Police Department to deploy K9 Stryker for a free-air sniff around the exterior of the vehicle. Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers also responded to assist.

K9 Stryker alerted to the odor of narcotics, prompting a probable cause search of the vehicle. During the search, Deputy Martinez located duffel bags inside the vehicle containing U.S. currency.

The preliminary estimate of the seized currency is approximately $207,000. An official count will be conducted at a local financial institution in accordance with agency protocol.

The driver was taken into custody and arrested for Money Laundering, in violation of Texas Penal Code Section 34.02(e)(3)—a first-degree felony involving an amount between $150,000 and $300,000. The driver was also charged with Tampering with a Government Record.

Additional investigative efforts are underway in coordination with federal partners.

Deputy C. Martinez continues to be a valuable asset to Cass County and the greater East Texas region in the fight against drug trafficking and organized criminal activity. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to protecting our communities through proactive interdiction, interagency cooperation, and professional policing.

🚨 HELP US BRING A K9 TO BANNER ELK, NC 🚨
The Banner Elk Police Department Needs Our Support
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Banner Elk, North Carolina is known for its charm, natural beauty, and vibrant tourism industry—but the town is still reeling from the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene in 2024.
The storm left every road in and out of the town inaccessible, wiped out critical infrastructure, and left the community without water for over a month. Worse yet, the Banner Elk Police Department was flooded beyond use—and today, officers are still displaced, working without a permanent headquarters as the town struggles to rebuild.
Despite the setbacks, this resilient community and its officers continue to show up, serve, and protect. And now, they’re ready to take the next step: launching their first-ever K9 program.

The Hurricane Creek K9 Foundation is proud to partner with Banner Elk PD to make this vision a reality—but we need your help to get there.

💥 A trained K9 will provide critical services, including:
✅ Tracking lost or missing individuals in the surrounding wilderness
✅ Detecting narcotics and fi****ms that threaten community safety
✅ Enhancing officer safety during patrols
✅ Strengthening community outreach and engagement, especially with students, tourists, and families
✅ Reassuring visitors and residents alike that Banner Elk is safe, prepared, and resilient

For a town whose economy relies heavily on tourism, public safety isn’t just about law enforcement—it’s about reinforcing public trust, promoting recovery, and showing that Banner Elk is open, strong, and secure.

💙 Every dollar you give supports the training, care, and long-term placement of a professionally trained police K9 with Banner Elk PD.

Join us in giving this mountain town a partner that never quits—and a symbol of strength they can rally behind. Together, we can help Banner Elk rebuild safer and stronger than ever.

Someone is feeling a tad better today! Crash is sitting up on his own, eating without having to be hand fed... And.... BIG SURPRISE AT THE END.

Crash still has a long road ahead and it's going to require alot of care, but this is a big step in the right direction.

If this is your first time seeing Crash, he was spotted laying on the side of the road by Ofc. McKenzie while headed to the kennel during handler school. Our team, along with Mckenzie and Cpl. Raley were able to get this big boy situated and back to Hurricane Creek K9.

After a deep dive vet visit, we found that Crash had been shot with birdshot, had a broken tail and was covered in ticks. No real answer on why he isn't completely mobile, that part is a waiting game.

To spite all of this, Crash is progressing very well, as you can see in the video.

We will continue to do whatever it takes to ensure this sweet boy feeling recovers and goes on to a halt life.

If you would like to donate to Crash's continued care, you can do so at www.donorbox.com/help-crash

***UPDATE ON CRASH***

After a deep dive vet appointment today, Crash has good news and bad news.

Good news: Nothing is broken and he is heart worm negative, that's about where that ends.

Bad news: He's been shot with birdshot (it's healed over) he has pellets across his body. He has a broken tail and possibly nerve damage or tick paralysis causing the mobility issues. He also has a respiratory infection.

He has a long road ahead, but our team is dedicated and up to the challenge.

If you would like to help by donating to Crash's ongoing expenses you can do so at the link below.
