This is Amelia, a 13 yr. old, blind, Shih Tzu, rescued from an overcrowded shelter so she would not be euthanized. She is understandably very timid, afraid of other dogs and unsure of her new surroundings. Amelia has had an initial vet check up and been groomed. She has a lump that the vet thinks could possibly be cancerous that will need to be removed. She also desperately needs a dental with tooth extractions. After her blood work comes back and she is able to undergo anesthesia for her surgeries, she will have her tumor removed and then tested to see if it is cancerous. The good news is, she is safe, warm, has a good appetite and is in a loving foster home.
We have been quite busy the past few weeks trying to save the dogs we can and care for the many others in our care. While none of our long term dogs have been adopted, for various reasons, and may never be, all of our new rescues saved in the past month have been adopted into loving homes with previous adopters who were on our waiting list to adopt. 16 precious lives in new homes! Isn't that great news? While we don't post much on FB, if interested in adoption, you are always welcome to email us, apply to adopt and if approved, be put on our waiting list. We email applicants on our approved applicant list when we have new rescues and they become available for adoption. Also, if any dogs are in need of rescue that you think we might be able to help, please contact us and we will try to help!
