Who needs a tank??? No leaks! Our store fish, sweet “Jack” the Jack Dempsey fish, passed away at 12 years old (maybe 15?!) and his tank needs to go!!!

-We are working on cleaning it but otherwise it’s in good shape
-Gravel if you want it!
-Fish Supplies and decor too!

Today, we’re feeling profound gratitude for the team at the Nederland Co-op / Mountain People’s Co-op.

The “scraps” we receive from the Co-op are as far from any definition of scraps as you can get. They’re beautiful, fresh greens that help supplement our animals’ diets—especially in the cold months, when meals are mostly hay and grain.

Honestly: the humans and the animals at Gilpin Grateful Acres get excited every time Cale tells us the Co-op is on the phone and has “scraps.” It’s become one of our favorite calls.

And yesterday…on one of the coldest, snowiest days we’ve had this year, an employee from the Co-op still made the delivery. That kind of care and community support means more than we can put into words.

Thank you—truly—to every employee at the Nederland Co-op / Mountain People’s Co-op.
The animals feasted tonight. 💚🥦

Happy Piggy Monday!
We want to wish a warm welcome to our new residents: Boris and Pumpkin ❤️ 🐷 Ryan has been working tirelessly to prepare their new home as their current home was desperately need for a new septic tank. After an extended amount of time without proper septic, their family made the heart breaking decision to relocate them to the Sanctuary.
Pumpkin had some hesitation unloading but Boris wasted no time getting comfortable! The rest of the farm, however, is a little apprehensive of our new friends….
To ease the transition, and because it’s the holidays, we sent our wishlist to Santa early, and gifts are on the way! If you would like to contribute, every dollar matters. Though we have had unseasonably warm weather, graze is still minimal and this time of year is when we need donations the most.
Thank you as always for your support. Private tours are still available on select Sundays/Mondays while the weather is nice!
