Episode 2 - Isabella

She’s a long legged,lanky thing. Her yellow fur the color of wheat before the harvest.
Full of energy and a smile that would brighten the cloudiest day.
She brings me a ball and our session begins.

Tell me Isabella, are you ready for love?
A boy or a girl to grow with up with?
Is that what you dream of?

Or maybe a place that you can lay your head.
With patience and guidance
That you can learn to be a guardian of their stead?

She’s playing with the other dogs, the ball left behind.
But she comes running when I call.
That smile tells me she hasn’t lost hope for mankind.

Beautiful girl, I promise there are good people out there.
You just hold on.

Late yesterday and today have been challenging days for us at the shelter, but we remain hopeful. A kind couple discovered two adorable puppies on Blanton Road. We took them to the vet this morning, and although they have parvo, we are optimistic and committed to their care. They've been named Yesterday and Tomorrow, reminding us that while yesterday is behind us, tomorrow brings new promise. Treating them requires significant resources, and any support would be deeply appreciated.

We recently observed the two-year anniversary of the catastrophic EF-4 tornado that ravaged our town. The 2023 disaster resulted in loss of life, widespread destruction of homes, and the obliteration of businesses, including our rescue building, which was in development. Fox Weather followed up with us to evaluate our recovery progress. We are grateful for their ongoing commitment to our rebuilding process.

Two years ago, an EF-4 tornado destroyed parts of Rolling Fork, Mississippi, including the South Delta Animal Rescue. By "a miracle" all the animals survived.

Have you ever met a dog that made your heart ache?
With colors so unique, a brindled beauty, she waits.

When the others are playing, beside me she sits.
Her watchful eyes telling me there’s nothing she’ll miss.

Tell me Mollie, are you dreaming of a home to call your own?
With pats and pillows and balls and bones?
A person to guard, a yard to patrol,
A safe place to lay your head and lots of love as you grow old?

She rests her head on my knee, and despite the circumstances,
She still dreams for a home with a yard and an owner who knows about second chances.
A tribe of her own to love and protect. A safe place to be.
Mollie’s eyes are saying
“Please don’t give up on me”

There’s just something about a Mississippi Delta dog. Born near a turn row, chasing dust devils and waiting for someone worthy to give their loyalty to.

Meet Bob.
Found on Sandy Bayou Road.
And Bob is the epitome of a Mississippi delta dog.
Healthy, neutered, all muscle, full of energy, approximately 3 year old so he’s past that pesky puppy stage. He is Heartworm positive but currently under going treatment.

If you want love.
If you want loyalty.
If you want a dog that’ll be with you every step of the way?

Then you want Bob.

Today marks two years since our community was hit by a devastating tornado, and we're filled with hope as we reflect on the resilience and strength that has brought us through. We pray for the families who lost loved ones and those who lost homes and businesses, and we're grateful for the kindness of strangers who helped us rebuild. As we look back on the night of March 24, 2023, we're thankful that every shelter animal was safe and has since found their forever home. We're grateful for the support that has allowed us to rebuild our animal shelter and continue serving our community!

💙💙Update: This sweet pup has been reunited with his owner! Thank you for sharing and helping us find his owner!! 💙💙

This male puppy was found off highway 14 in anguilla. If you know who he belongs to please let us know! If not the hold will be up in five days. (3/31) He will then be available for adoption after vetting.
