Watch how quickly the pack’s energy shifts when the smaller black dog starts running!

Arousal is like the throttle on a boat. The more you push it, the faster things go. Too much arousal can create tension and potentially escalate into conflict.

Notice how the other dogs step in? They’re responding to that increase in energy, signaling that it’s becoming too much.

That’s why I intervened. I didn’t need to say a word, just stand up. Through the trust I’ve built with each dog, they know I’ll handle the situation.

Did you catch her sit and then shake off? The quick sit acknowledged the group’s communication, while the shake-off was likely a release of built-up tension.

This is why understanding canine body language and managing arousal are so important! 🐾
