Well unfortunately we have started the New Year off on the wrong foot as we are down by a few of our regular fosters which leaves us in a terrible pinch so until they are able to return which will be a few months it leaves us in quite an awful spot as the surrenders keep coming and the shelters keep calling and time is of the essence but if we don't have the room there is nothing we can do to help.
We are looking for a few new foster homes to help us out through this struggling time. Below explains what we are looking for and what we need. If you are able and capable please visit our website and fill out our volunteer application.

The True meaning of fostering a dog is providing a temporary, loving home to help them decompress from the shelter, learn to trust, show their true personality, and become more adoptable, ultimately saving their life and freeing up shelter space for another animal in need, all while the rescue organization typically covers costs like food and vet care. It's about being a vital bridge between a dog's past and its future forever family, offering safety, socialization, and essential information to ensure the best match.
What fostering involves:
Temporary Care: You provide daily care, love, and a stable home environment until adoption.
Personality Unveiling: A home setting lets a dog relax, revealing their true character, which is often hidden by shelter stress.
Socialization & Training: You help with basic manners (house-training, leash walking) and get to know their compatibility with kids, other pets, and their triggers.
Support for the Rescue: You free up shelter space and provide crucial information for finding the perfect adoptive family.

#6 Must be able to handle and keep the animal until adopted.

Dobie Ranch Rescue covers Food, Medical and other supplies needed.
Majority of the time we cannot tell you if an animal is cat, dog or kid Friendly so applying to foster and expecting us to meet those demands is unrealistic.
Reality is we cannot guarantee what you will get so it's important to be able to handle all situations as we don't have the capability or desire to bounce these dogs around.
Fostering is a huge commitment and probably the most important part of rescue. It's all about giving to one in need so you must be able to handle the good the bad and the ugly.
We all wish it was a whole lot easier but please remember, we don't raise them, we rescue them and they ALL deserve a chance.
