Severide has been with us since he was a little puppy after being saved from a housefire. All of his siblings have been adopted but Severide still waits. He is now 7 months old! Thankfully, he has a wonderful foster family that is committed to finding his forever home! Here are some words from his foster mom:
"Severide is a handsome, energetic boy who lives with & does well with other dogs & cats. He does need time to meet some new dogs. He has more of a dominant behavior. He is super playful & absolutely loves to play with other dogs. Severide is still learning some manners. He is treat motivated. He does know, "Sit." He loves to be part of all the fun & adventure. He is interested in everything going on around him. Severide is a goofy boy who loves to be around his people."

Did you know that we send follow-up emails to all individuals that adopt a pet approximately 2-3 weeks after adoption. We love sharing photos these adopters send us of their dog or cat enjoying life in their furever home. Visit animals still waiting for their home Tuesday-Friday 11am to 5pm and Saturday 11am to 4pm.

Tomorrow we will be at the Dog Days of Summer event at Lancerlot Sports Complex from 1pm-4pm with some amazing and adorable adoptable dogs! Come on out and fall in love! If applicable, please bring a copy of current pet's vet records showing they are up to date on vaccines and fixed and a copy of your lease agreement showing you are allowed to have pets. How is Jebediah still here?!?!?!

Meet Jebediah, a sweet and resilient 5-month-old kitten who has been patiently waiting for his forever home. After a little setback with a cold, Jebediah has made a full recovery and is now ready to share his love and playful energy with a family of his own.

Once again, we need your help

Since January 1st, 1,185 pets have come through our doors. Every single day, that number grows. Each one of them arrived with a story; some sick, some scared, some abandoned, but all of them hoping for a second chance. We do everything we can, every pet receives medical care, warm shelter, food in their bowls, and love from our team. Some need emergency surgeries, some need weeks of healing, and all of them need the basics that keep them alive and safe.

But here’s the truth: without financial help, we can’t keep going. Running an adoption center isn’t just about food and kennels; it’s electricity, water, medicine, and everything in between. And the bills don’t stop. Your donation isn’t just money; it’s the difference made so we can help even more. It’s a lifesaving surgery. It’s warmth in the winter and cool air in the summer. It’s hope.

🚨 Crisis Alert: The Drama is Real 🚨

Our shelter dogs have informed us that kibble alone simply won’t cut it. Apparently, they’re “too refined” now and require their daily portion of delicious, canned dog food. If the wet food bowls run dry, we’re expecting a full-blown mutiny of side-eyes, guilt trips, and dramatic sighs. We’re talking Oscar-worthy performances here, folks.

Thank you to all of our supporters that answer our pleas for dog, puppy, cat and kitten food! We love seeing the deliveries from Amazon, Chewy and Walmart. We would personally thank each of you. However, these companies do not share the details of who sent these care packages to us. PLEASE KNOW that we GREATLY APPRECIATE everyone out there that has sent us items that we so desperately need to keep our animals' well fed each and every day at the shelter!❣
