It’s been a great week at the ball fields! The team Magnolia Grace sponsored won the regular season championship in the Pee-Wee Division. Dr. Turbyfill’s oldest son plays on the team that won the regular season championship in the Minors Division! Congratulations to all of these kids! We feel blessed to be able to sponsor youth sports for the kids in our community. We love seeing the kids having fun and learning teamwork and camaraderie. With the weather warming up, we know that many of you are starting to think about flea and tick prevention for your pets. We hope this message from Dr. Jerome Goddard at Mississippi State helps serve as a reminder that we recommend keeping your pets on tick prevention year-round!

We have BIG news to share! For almost 5 and 1/2 years, we’ve been appreciative of the opportunity to lease 110 Zebulon Ct. This year, we have had the opportunity to purchase our own real estate, which will provide us a long-term home of our own. We have some renovations to do, so we won’t be moving until 2027. But we’re excited to announce that we will be making a future transition to 3151 Benvenue Road!

Not all online pharmacies are the same!
Unfortunately, one of our patients is one of the dogs that was affected/harmed by this product. Fortunately for our patient, it looks like he will make a full recovery with no long term effects. If you don't read the whole article, the summary is:
This company was selling "Allergy pills" online without prescriptions, claiming it was an over-the-counter product. However, the label on the bottle says that the pills contain cyclosporine, which is a prescription immune-modulating drug. BUT, the dogs who have been taking the pills are experiencing side effects and liver issues that cyclosporine should NOT cause. Currently there is evidence that the pills actually contain corticosteroids, which is a different class of prescription drugs. All of this is VERY illegal. However, drug and law enforcement agencies currently face so many issues they need to address, it is uncertain if anyone at this company will be held accountable for the harm they have done to dogs across the country. We are participating in trying to pursue action, but the outcome is yet to be seen.
Please be very careful when purchasing products for your pets online. Feel free to ask us if you have any questions before making a purchase. We are also going to post some links in the comments from the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) with advice about getting safe prescriptions.

Please be safe today! We understand that there is potential for dangerous weather after 11 AM. Therefore, we will NOT be enforcing our typical cancellation policy today. We do not want you to take unnecessary risks if it is not safe to get out and come to your appointment. Again, there will be NO cancellation fees for those who cancel due to the severe weather. We hope everyone is able to stay safe today.

We will be OPEN tomorrow, Tuesday Feb 3rd. We will WAIVE the cancellation fee though for anyone who cancels their appointment due to road conditions. If your roads are not safe to travel, please stay home. We can find another day to reschedule you. We do ask that you still please let us know if you will not be coming as we may have others who would like to have their pets seen in your place. Thank you!
The parking spaces in front of the hospital and on the Left (South) side are clear, but the right (North) side still has some ice, so please avoid that side of the building. We will have cones out.

We will be CLOSED on Monday, February 2nd. Despite our best efforts, there is still a layer of ice in our parking lot. Many side roads are also still affected by ice and snow, including Zebulon Road and Zebulon Court. It’s not supposed to get above freezing until after noon tomorrow, which is what led to this decision. We will continue working on the parking lot tomorrow to try to make it safe to open as soon as we can! Please be safe, and stay home if you can until all of the ice and snow is off the roads!

Due to hazardous road conditions, our office will be CLOSED on Monday, January 26th. If you have an appointment, we will be in touch with you on Tuesday to get it rescheduled.
