If you have old/used towels that you're ready to part with, but could still be used for a dog or cat to lay on, we are in need! We've been having to throw away some of our more tattered/chewed up towels and our supply is getting low. So, rather than throwing your used towels away, consider donating them to be used by our furry patients! Thank you.

On July 13th, we lost one of the members of our staff in a tragic event. We have often been at a loss for words in the last week and a half as we have mourned.
La'Ren came to work at Magnolia Grace AH in March, 2025. She was a friendly, calm, and caring person. She loved the animals she worked with, especially a kitten affectionately known as Yon Whippersnapper. We were impressed with her confidence, and we enjoyed laughing at her jokes. La'Ren was pleasant and kind. She would even share her Snickers bar with a hungry coworker!
Dear La'Ren, you were taken from this world much too soon. We will make sure that Whippersnapper is well taken care of for you. Goodbye, friend. We will miss you.
To our followers, please join us in praying for all of her family and loved ones. We ask the Lord to provide them with comfort and peace, and to let them know of his love for them.

PAW NC is one of the local rescue groups that works to help animals from the Nash County and Rocky Mount Animal Shelters find forever homes. They are putting on a fundraising event in June for anyone interested in supporting this cause! Promoting Animal Welfare in NC

WEATHER UPDATE: Please check your pets’ medication levels. We are watching the weather reports, and are aware that we may have to close on Wednesday and Thursday for the winter storm. If you’re going to need refills this week, try to go ahead and get those requests in today or tomorrow! Depending on what the weather brings, we will try to be open to serve you as much as we can, but safety comes first.

Microchip Information Update:
- We know that many of you have already seen that a microchip company called SaveThisLife has ceased operations abruptly. I have tried to call the company, and can confirm that the calls do not go through. I have also used pets that we know have SaveThisLife chips to run tests. I can confirm that the company's website no longer contacts owners the way it is supposed to. I have also verified that AAHA's universal lookup tool will no longer provide information on these pets, because SaveThisLife has removed their customer's information from the database.
- I do not have any explanation as to why the company ceased operations, or why they removed all access to pet owner's contact information. I also do not know why they've done this without any warning or notification to their customers. I do think that customers who have paid for microchip registrations with this company have a right to be upset. I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of legal resolution has to be reached at some point, but I have no idea how long that could take.
- At Magnolia Grace, we have not used microchips from this company, so if your pet was microchipped here, then this issue does not affect you.
- We do know that other area clinics have used SaveThisLife branded chips, so many people in our area ARE affected by this issue.
- Here are some action steps we can recommend to you:
1. If you know that your pet has a chip from SaveThisLife, and you have your microchip information, you can register your pet with another company, to be sure that your pet will show up in the database. The company that we have been using and can recommend to you is called PetLink. You can go to their site at PetLink.net and click "Register Microchip" on the left side. There is a one-time fee of $29.95 for a lifetime registration.
2. If you are not sure about which brand microchip your pet has, please call us or come by. If we have your pet's microchip number on file with us, then we can put it in the AAHA lookup tool and verify for you which company it is from. If we don't have your microchip number on file, we can scan your pet to verify the presence of a chip, and check the registration status for you.
