Purebred boxer can only produce brindle puppies if at least one parent is brindle, as it is the dominant gene.

If both parents are homozygous for the dominant brindle gene (\(BB\)), they will always produce brindle puppies, even if one parent also carries the recessive fawn gene (\(Bb\) or \(bb\)).
If both parents are homozygous for the dominant brindle gene, their offspring will inherit at least one brindle gene, resulting in a brindle coat.

How it works
Dominant brindle gene (\(B\)): A boxer with one or two copies of the brindle gene will have brindle coloring.

Recessive fawn gene (\(b\)): A boxer will be fawn only if it has two copies of the fawn gene (\(bb\)).

Possible combinations
Brindle x Brindle:
A single brindle boxer (Bb) can produce fawn (bb) and brindle (BB or Bb) puppies.
A double brindle boxer (BB) will always produce brindle puppies (Bb or BB). ("Color Locked")

Brindle x Fawn:
A brindle boxer (Bb) can produce both fawn (bb) and brindle (Bb) puppies,
while a fawn boxer (bb) can only produce fawn puppies.

Important note A purebred boxer cannot have a black coat, as the breed does not carry the black gene.
A boxer with a "black" appearance is actually a very heavily brindled boxer with so many dark stripes that it appears almost solid black. ("Sealed Brindle")
