Meet Our Newest Board & Train Star! ⭐️
We’re excited to welcome Olive 🫒 , a 16wk old Bernadoodle to our Board and Train program!
She’ll be staying with us for two weeks to work on basic obedience, as well as exposure and handling exercises.

Big congratulations to Ranger! This superstar just wrapped up our Board & Train program and went above and beyond by completing his AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification by earning his CGCA (advanced) & CGCU (urban). Over the past few weeks, Ranger has worked hard on obedience, manners, and real-world reliability—and it all paid off. He’s now officially recognized as a well-mannered pup both at home and in the community.Way to go, Ranger! Physical 💪🏻 vs. Mental 🧠Stimulation: What’s the Difference, and Why Does It Matter?

We all know dogs need exercise—walks, playtime, running around the yard—but that’s just one part of the equation. The other half? Mental stimulation. And believe it or not, mental work can be even more tiring than physical activity!

So what’s the difference?

Physical stimulation gets your dog’s body moving.
Think:
• Walks 🐕
• Fetch 🎾
• Running 🏃🏻‍➡️
• Tug-of-war 🪢

These are all great and necessary—but for many dogs, especially high-energy breeds, it’s not enough on its own.

Mental stimulation challenges your dog’s brain.
Think:
• Puzzle toys 🧩
• Training sessions 🏋️
• Scent games 🐽
• Learning new commands or tricks 🐾

Why is mental work so powerful?
Because problem-solving, thinking through tasks, and learning new skills burns a surprising amount of energy. Just like humans can feel drained after a mentally demanding day, dogs do too! A 15-minute training session can tire out a dog more than a 30-minute walk.

The result?
A calmer, more satisfied dog who’s less likely to act out from boredom or frustration.

🐾 The "3-Second Rule" for Better Training! 🐾

Did you know dogs learn best when they receive feedback within 3 seconds of their action? Whether it’s a reward for good behavior or a correction for something unwanted, timing is everything! ⏳

✅ Reward quickly – Praise or treat your dog immediately when they do something right.
❌ Correct gently – If your dog makes a mistake, calmly redirect them within those 3 seconds.

This helps your pup make clear connections between their actions and your response, leading to faster and more effective training! 🐕💡
