🚨🌡️ HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR TOMORROW TEMPS WILL FEEL LIKE 115 DEGREES🌡️🚨

Tomorrow's forecast is calling for dangerous temperatures, and now is the time to prepare your pets.

Dogs and cats are far more susceptible to heat-related illness than many people realize. What feels like a quick walk or a few minutes outside can quickly become a medical emergency when temperatures soar.

🐾 BEFORE TOMORROW ARRIVES:

💧 Refill water bowls and make sure pets have access to plenty of fresh, cool water.

🌳 Check that outdoor pets have adequate shade throughout the hottest parts of the day.

🏠 Plan to bring pets indoors whenever possible.

🚶 Schedule walks for early morning or late evening.

🔥 Remember: pavement temperatures can be 30–60 degrees hotter than the air temperature. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws.

🚗 Never leave pets in vehicles, even for "just a minute."

🐱 Consider putting out extra water for community cats and local wildlife.

⚠️ Watch for signs of heat stress:
• Excessive panting
• Heavy drooling
• Lethargy
• Vomiting
• Bright red gums
• Difficulty walking
• Collapse

The safest place for pets during extreme heat is indoors with air conditioning and fresh water.
