Getting your dog used to distractions — especially ones they’re fearful of — is about building trust, not forcing them through fear.

One of the best ways to do this is by helping your dog hold position near the distraction. This gives them a job to focus on and teaches them that they can be calm and safe in that environment.

Reward your dog for staying in position and making the choice to stay engaged with you. Over time, that builds confidence and reduces reactivity. The goal is progress, not pressure. 💪🐾
