We are SO excited to welcome Joelle to the Paws to Swim family!
She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team and will be instructing dock diving this season (and hopefully many more). 👏👏

🛠️Big improvements happening at Paws to Swim! We are super excited that our indoor pool room recently got a new dehumidifier, something we’ve needed for several years. Full transparency- This is a HUGE expense for a tiny business like ours (like fancy new car expensive😅), but absolutely crucial for us to operate. So we will be working to pay this beast of a machine off over many years. We want to say a big “thank you” to our wonderful clients whose continued patronage allows us to keep the doors open so we can do what we love and help as many dogs as possible. We hope you enjoy the more comfortable, less humid conditions in the pool room!

A note before we get to his questions: Henry is often behind the scenes here at PTS, but if you and your dog have ever enjoyed literally anything here, it’s thanks to him! He built the dock and play pool, maintains all the things, fixes all the things and entertains our nutty ideas! So thank you Henry!

🐶what made you want to take over Paws to Swim in 2015?
Alice and I were looking to start a business working with dogs and Paws to Swim sort of fell into our lap when Alice heard the business was being sold. It turned out to be the perfect fit for what we were looking for.

🐶 what are your favorite activities?
Building things, playing drums, mountain biking, snowboarding, playing with my kids and dogs

🐶 do you have a favorite type of dog?
Pitbulls!!

Today we spotlight Alice!
🐶what made you want to take over Paws to Swim in 2015?

I was working for a veterinarian and knew I wanted to start a business within the pet care industry when I learned about Paws to Swim and that the owner was selling the business. Henry and I came to look and immediately fell in love with it , moved onto the property, and started our business and family here.

🐶 what are your favorite activities?

Between my 7yr old twins, my dogs, the business and our mini-farm, there isn’t a lot of down time, but I do love to cook, garden and indulge in bad reality TV. I’ve always been a swimmer and find myself drawn to the water, especially the ocean, any chance I get.

🐶 do you have a favorite type of dog?

I’m a sucker for bully breeds, especially the seniors!

Today we spotlight Alex!

🐶 what brought you to Paws to Swim?
My dog, Gunny, tore his CCL. We started coming to Paws to Swim as part of his rehab after surgery. He tore his other CCL less than a year later, but the recovery was so much easier because we had been swimming! Now I can’t keep him out of the water
🐶 what are your favorite activities?
Swimming (with and without the pups), hiking, and kayaking. On days when I need to take it easy, we play video games or go to the movies.
🐶 do you have a favorite type of dog?
The big, BEEFY ones 💪
