“DNA clear” sounds reassuring. But clear for WHAT?

A DNA panel checks specific genetic variants. It doesn’t screen for every inherited condition, and it doesn’t guarantee a healthy dog—or healthy puppies.

For Dobermans, understanding the difference matters. A cheek swab doesn’t replace examining the heart. Echocardiograms and Holter monitoring provide information a DNA panel cannot.

When someone says “fully health tested,” ask which tests were done, when they were done, and whether you can see the actual results.

My take? A responsible breeder should welcome those questions. Knowing what our testing tells us—and where its limits are—is part of the job.

We can’t promise perfect health. We can make informed decisions, explain the risks honestly, and keep learning.

The goal is better breeding decisions. The paperwork helps only when we understand what’s on it.

I can’t thank Mike from Heatseeker Drone Service enough for everything he did to help bring Journey (Mystikos It’s Not The Destination CGC) home safely. ❤️🐾

His time, dedication, and compassion during such a frightening experience meant more than words can express. When a dog is missing, every effort matters—and having someone willing to put their heart into helping means everything.

REUNITED… and what a relief!

Journey certainly lived up to that name—taking a 29-hour journey without permission! Thankfully, Journey is now safely home.

To everyone who shared, said a prayer, sent positive vibes, or checked in—THANK YOU. Every bit of kindness and support meant so much during those long, worrying hours.

Our hearts are full, and we are beyond grateful for this happy ending. No more adventures like that, Journey!

🎉🐾 JOURNEY HAS BEEN FOUND SAFE! 🐾🎉

After a few scary days, over 100 posters, and incredible drone work by Mike from HeatSeeker Drone Services, Journey is finally safe!

Journey was located deep in the woods, up a steep embankment, where she appeared to be stuck on a ledge and too frightened to come down.

With the help of Mike and his drone, Journey’s owner was guided through the woods right to her location, where she was happily waiting for her dad! ❤️

A huge thank-you to Mike from HeatSeeker Drone Services and CTDGRV volunteers Jill and Melissa for everything they did to bring Journey home!

Journey, you certainly lived up to your name, but we’re so glad your adventure had a happy ending! 🐾❤️

This beautiful girl is missing from her home. She is friendly, but she is most likely very scared. Please do not call out to or chase her. This could cause her to run and put her in harm’s way. If you see her, please call the number on the flyer immediately and provide her exact location.
She is wearing a red and pink collar. Please keep an eye out and check around your yards, bushes, decks and sheds. If you have security cameras, please check your footage to see if she may have passed through your property.

Remi — CH Mystikos Runs on Dunkin’ — absolutely showed out at ICKC this weekend, and I could not be more proud of this girl.

She finished the weekend with:

🔥 2 RESERVE BEST IN SHOWS
👑 1 BEST IN SHOW
❤️ BEST BRED BY EXHIBITOR IN SHOW

That last one hits a little differently.

There is something incredibly special about standing in the ring with a dog you bred, raised, trained, conditioned, believed in, and watched grow into everything you hoped she could be.

Remi continues to make the Mystikos name proud every single time she steps into the ring.

She worked.
She showed.
She delivered.

And she ended the weekend a BEST IN SHOW WINNER.

So incredibly proud of you, Remi girl.

Mystikos Runs on Dunkin’ — she definitely runs on something.

What a weekend for Remi in Maine.

This young girl took 4 Best of Breeds, snagged 2 Group 2s and topped it off with a GROUP 1!

So incredibly proud of her and everything she continues to accomplish. Even better, she picked up points toward her UKC Grand Championship title along the way!

She just keeps making me proud… one show at a time.
