Thistledown Kennels (Cairn Terriers) I show and raise cairn terriers for myself first then for pet. Health guarantee, AKC papers, 5 way I raise and show cairn terriers from my home.

Most of my puppies go to pet homes that have had cairn terriers most of their lives and are replacing their long loved Cairn that have passed away. Some go to show homes. I do not sell to anyone and everyone that calls, I do screen and care where my puppies go. Cairn terriers are long lived and hearty, that does not mean they do not have some issues at times, but it is very rare. With corky person

alities and a variety of colors, this little dog, that acts like they are a big dog, will truly be a delight to almost any home. Considered non-shedding (they do shed some, but so little I can't tell) and hypoallergenic. I feed holistic dog food and feel they do the best on a more natural diet. I spoil my dogs and have been known to buy $100 (or more) in toys at a time... love my dogs. If you are interested in knowing more about me and my cairns please call me. Expect about an hour call. I'm old school and find texting and emails are time consuming and not a way to get to know me or for myself, to get to know you. Remember these are babies, not something to be tossed aside or ordered by mail, they are family members. If you enjoy talking cairns, I sure do! The way I look at it if you are to shy to call, then you’re to shy for a terrier. Heads up though, if you’re looking for just a pet and not a family member, than please find one elsewhere. I’m only looking to place pups for those that view their cairns as part of their family. I feel these guys are special, that’s why I only raise cairns. I hope you are as fanatic about them as I am. So fanatic I spend $6,000 or more to go get most of what I have from the best show homes in Europe. They have been carefully bred with health, confirmation, and personality as key elements. All my puppies go and to fantastic, wonderful homes and I will continue to produce amazing puppies that are healthy, smart and looking like a cairn. Finally have some updated pictures of peaches and Happy’s babies. All doing well and reserved. They are starting to walk and started on solids! They are so precious. I’m keeping one of the girls and just as excited as the new upcoming fur parents. If you are interested in the next upcoming litters coming in November you should call me. At 815-494-5964. If you are wanting a pup for early next year (like January or early February) contact me by calling. If you have been following me you know how I work. We are not planning many litters. We have cut way back. I have no control when females come into heat so I’m breed when they come in. Or I just don’t breed at all. I’m breeding now for January so late spring may not happen if I don’t have this upcoming litter spoken for. Besides it’s a good time because with the change in temperature they go potty quicker! Happy to announce that Peaches and Happy had their babies in the wee hours of the morning. A total of five healthy thriving babies. Three females and two males. All are spoken for except a male. They will be ready November 22nd. If you are interested in the last male in this litter please give me a call me at 815-494-5964. How I work, interview over phone, if we both want to move forward then I will ask for a non refundable $500 deposit. That goes towards the total cost of $3000 for the pup. You will get last pick of males. You will not know which male until day of pickup. I believe with these two parents though you will not he disappointed. Many many champions in their background. Hi all! Sophie and Happy had their babies on August 22nd. She had two healthy baby girls. They will be ready to go October 18th. I only have one girl available. All other pups at this time are spoken for. $500 deposit by check or by Zelle will hold and the rest due upon pickup wick is $2500 in cash. Both parents have had a genetic test done of 266 markers and came back with zero markers for both. Eye, heart and patellas done and all clear. Dad is from Europe with all champion background. Mom is being shown and thus will be her one and only litter. She beat out all cairn in 2 shows and I believe will do very well. Gaston is now spoken for! Thanks everyone

This is Gaston, he’s son of Bon Bon and Belle. Bon Bon is our French import with all champion background. We are currently showing him and Belle. Both parents were recently vet checked, genetic tested and had eye heart and patellas done. All came back clear. Gaston was born 4/14/25. He will be vet checked and have his rabies shot and have all other 5 ways done. Nothing at all wrong with him, I just decided to keep his sister, instead, out of the two. He’s not going to be big. He’s going to be small and compact. Very beautiful harsh coat. Would be a nice pet or for show. Will come with akc registration papers, one year health guarantee, and health records. Asking $3000. He is crate trained, very friendly and gets along with all our other dogs. He’s also microchipped and has had a genetic panel done of 266 markers. He’s a cmo carrier, but will never get it. Gus found his forever home today!

Hi all! Hope you are having a pleasant evening. I’m unfortunately listing our beautiful or should I say handsome Gus. He’s thrown some beautiful babies but mostly with soft coat. He’s also really hating the show ring. Gus is 3 years old. The last judge said she could tell he wasn’t happy he in the ring. Which means he’s not winning. He would prefer to be home on a couch. He’s a very gentle sweet boy. For sure not an agility prospect but perhaps a therapy dog because he is a gentle sweet soul. His adoption fee is $1000. He recently passed his heart and patellas.
