Our friend Bruno had his first "Doggie Day Out" adventure! While out with his new friend, we were able to learn many new things about Bruno that will help us find his perfect home. Bruno was able to explore Basil Marella Park, Byrne Dairy, and his "Doggie Day Out" companion's neighborhood. Plenty of new smells and new people to meet.
He and his other shelter friends are hoping to get out on more adventures soon!
If you're interested in the "Doggie Day Out" program please give our office a call at 585-581-4025.

There were Pooches on Parade at Greece Town Hall on 5/21/26. This offshoot of our new Doggie Day Out program has our team of volunteers showcasing the awesome dogs available for adoption from Greece Animal Services. We brought Ace, Bruno, Rufus, and Tux from the Greece Animal Shelter and Layla joined in with her foster dad. The dogs got a well-earned outing that provides exercise, socialization, and therapeutic stress reduction. We are planning to make these field trips a regular occurrence so community members can see the dogs shine when away from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting any of these dogs, call us at 585-581-4025 to arrange a meet-and-greet. 🐾 BIG NEWS: Introducing Our Doggie Day Out Program! 🐾
Ever wish you could brighten a shelter dog’s day and spend time with an awesome adventure buddy? Now you can!
Our new Doggie Day Out program gives community members the chance to take a shelter dog on a fun outing — whether that’s:
🐕 A scenic walk
☀️ A hike or park visit
🍦 A pup cup run
🍽️ Relaxing on a pet-friendly patio
🚗 Or simply enjoying time outside the shelter
These field trips do more than provide exercise and enrichment — they help dogs decompress from shelter stress, build social skills, and show off their personalities in the real world. Programs like those at Pima Animal Care Center and SPCA Serving Erie County have shown that giving dogs positive experiences outside the shelter can increase community engagement and help dogs get noticed by potential adopters.
And the best part?
You don’t have to adopt to make a difference.
Even one afternoon out can:
❤️ Reduce stress
❤️ Provide valuable enrichment
❤️ Help us learn more about a dog’s behavior outside the shelter
❤️ Create adorable photos and stories to share with future adopters
❤️ Give a deserving dog a break from kennel life
Who knows? Your adventure buddy might just meet their future family because of YOU.
Interested in participating? Call Greece Animal Services at 585-581-4025 to set up your Doggie Day Out!
