Good Job Buddy! 🐾

Tonight, a South County deputy responded to a report of a collision involving a male who was acting erratically. A short time later, the deputy requested priority assistance after he had the subject at Taser point. A brief struggle ensued, and the suspect fled on foot into the woods.

K9 Mac arrived on scene shortly after and was preparing to track when his handler noticed the suspect crawling toward them through the woods. The suspect then stood up and took off running before stopping. After repeated commands were ignored, K9 Mac was deployed to apprehended the suspect. While taking the suspect into custody, Mac was repeatedly kicked in the face. Despite the assault, Mac held on until deputies were able to safely take the suspect into custody.

🐾 Enjoyed our last training day with before he’s off to his next adventure! This pup has been a fun ride! He never fails to impress me, always teaches me something new and throws just enough “naughty” to make me wanna pull out my hair. He has loads of potential, is truly a GREAT tracker and a super personality to boot. We are sure gonna miss this boy! 💙 🚓

Atta Girl K9 Chacha!! 💙

Canine Chacha Hits the Ground Running

Fresh off her recent certification in narcotics detection, K9 Chacha has wasted no time putting her skills to work.

Earlier this week, K9 Chacha and her handler responded to assist deputies with a stolen vehicle investigation at Little Creek Casino. After being roused from her cozy slumber, Chacha conducted a free-air sniff and successfully alerted to the presence of narcotics. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the recovery of methamphetamine and other illicit narcotics.

Later in the week, Chacha and her handler responded to assist with a routine traffic stop for equipment violations. What began as a simple traffic stop quickly escalated when deputies recovered multiple fi****ms and arrested the driver for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Chacha again alerted to the presence of narcotics within the vehicle, leading to the discovery of additional narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

We are proud of K9 Chacha’s early success and the valuable role she plays in helping keep our community safe. Great work, Chacha and handler!
