⚠️ Heat Advisory ⚠️

All of southeast Michigan is under a heat advisory from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, July 24. Follow these steps to keep you and your pets safe:

- Bring your pets inside, if possible. If not, they need access to drinking water, shade, and shelter. Check on them regularly throughout the day.
- Limit walks to cooler mornings and evening hours to avoid hot temperatures and burns to paw pads from hot pavement.
- Watch for signs of heat stroke (panting, lethargy, muscle spasms). Contact your veterinarian ASAP if your pet starts showing signs.

If you see an animal in need in Detroit, Hamtramck and Highland Park, call our Cruelty Hotline at 313-872-3401. In other cities, contact your local animal control/police department.
