Yes, even indoor cats need to be vaccinated for Rabies. Bats do get into homes and cats love to interact with those flying mammals.

PADUCAH - Local resident Julia Biggers has taken canine self-esteem to new heights—literally—after crafting tiny wooden stilts for her 3-year-old Dachshund, Crusoe.

“My poor little guy was always looking up at the bigger dogs and feeling inadequate," Biggers explained, demonstrating Crusoe’s wobbly but determined stride on the miniature stilts. “Now he feels like he belongs!”

Neighbors report mixed reactions. “It’s inspiring, yet slightly terrifying,” said one dog walker. “I wasn’t ready to see a Dachshund that tall on my morning jog.”

Veterinarians caution that stilt training may pose risks, but Biggers insists Crusoe is “thriving.” She’s already brainstorming a harness system to help him chase squirrels more effectively.

Crusoe seems to agree. “He walks taller, barks louder, and even demands more kibble,” confessed the proud Paducah woman. “Finally, he’s the dog he always knew he could be!”

This is a developing story.
