While she may always have a slight limp and might need joint supplements as she ages, right now she’s living her best life—healthy, happy, and full of love!

🐾🇺🇸 Did You Know? On 9/11, dogs were heroes too.

When tragedy struck, hundreds of K9s and their handlers rushed to Ground Zero to search, comfort, and save lives. Their bravery is a story we should never forget.

✨ Meet some of the canine heroes:
• Apollo – A German Shepherd nearly killed by falling debris but saved when he fell into water. He got up, shook off, and went right back to work.
• Roselle – A calm, steady guide dog who led her blind owner and 30 others down 1,463 steps from the North Tower to safety.
• Salty – Another guide dog who refused to leave his owner’s side, saving his life. His story lives on in books that honor his courage.
• Trackr – A retired Canadian police dog who discovered the last living survivor 27 hours after the towers collapsed.

🐶 The reality of K9 efforts at Ground Zero:
• Nearly 300 search & rescue dogs worked tirelessly in the rubble.
• Their mission: to find survivors, comfort workers, and give hope.
• Conditions were grueling—dust, debris, toxic air, and exhaustion.
• Only 20 people were rescued alive, a heartbreaking reality for the teams who gave everything in the search.

❤️ These dogs were more than searchers. They were partners, lifesavers, and silent healers for a grieving nation.

👉 Today, as we remember 9/11, let’s also honor the four-legged heroes who stood alongside the first responders. 🐾

Her left front leg needed surgical repair, and it appears her left rear leg had also been broken at some point in the past. But this strong, resilient girl has healed beautifully and is now ready for her forever home! 💪💛

✨🐾 Adoption Update! 🐾✨

We’re so excited to share an update on one of our very first rescue pups — Noodle! ❤️

Stories like theirs remind us why we do what we do — every animal deserves a second chance, and every adoption story matters. 🐶🐱

Thanks to the support of our community and our transport friends at Partners! Canines, Noodle made his way to Brandywine Valley SPCA in PA where he found his perfect family. Here’s what they had to say:

💌 “Noodle has been fantastic! We love him very, very much. He visits the bus stop with my daughters each day and loves seeing all of the kids. He is calm and walks nicely outside, but still a complete goofball inside who needs to be reminded not to eat shoes. He’s happy and we are so glad to have him! Thank you for caring for him.”

Because of your continued support, we’ve been able to rescue, care for, and find loving homes for so many more animals. 💕 Here’s to many more happy endings! 🥳

This fun, family-friendly event is not only a blast, it also helps raise much-needed funds for the animals in our care. Every entry fee goes directly toward food, vet bills for our foster pets. 🐾❤️

Ivey is a very loving and cuddly girl, as you can see by her pictures! She had a hard life before coming to Critter Ridge, but seeing how much joy she still shares with us just proves how beautiful her sweet soul is. ♡

Ivey enjoys being a couch potato, playing with toys, and absolutely loves children. She is a real love bug and snuggle up kinda girl!
She has a silly, gentle-yet playful, even tempered personality, and will make someone a great new addition to their family. ☺️
