The Big Lick Vet team is hijacking Emma's Grooming page to share with all of you that today is her birthday! We hope you'll join us in celebrating her today and wishing her the best! 🥳

Emma joined the Big Lick Vet team in 2017. She left briefly in 2022 to move to Florida but we were lucky enough to have her re-join the team in 2023 when she moved back to Roanoke. Since 2017, Emma has worked hard to grow Big Lick Vet Grooming and continue to develop her skills, even as a busy mother, wife, groomer, daughter, and friend. This past year, she attended the Groom Expo Conference in Hershey, PA for several days. She was able to participate in seminars, watch competitions, and check out new and unique products and then bring the education and ideas she picked up back with her! Emma has never waivered in her passion for grooming and she works hard to make grooming an individualized experience for each and every pet she sees. She knows that no two pets are the same and is always happy to tailor each groom to fit the needs of the pet and their family. She is beloved among her clients and patients and we are so thankful to have her at Big Lick and be able bring this service to our clients. ✂️🐾

November 1st is International Pet Groomer Appreciation Day! ✂️🐾

Being a pet groomer is so much more than giving a haircut — it’s patience, compassion, and understanding. It’s knowing how to comfort a nervous pup, earn the trust of a senior dog, and make every pet feel loved and safe.

Groomers spend their days lifting heavy dogs, handling every coat type imaginable, and making sure each pet not only looks their best, but feels their best too. 💕

To every hardworking groomer out there — thank you for your dedication, skill, and heart. You keep pets healthy, happy, and beautiful one groom at a time.
