I took this video a couple of weeks ago when the bird area was a muddy mess, and forgot to post it until now. You can’t see him in the video, but that “crying” sound is LeBron the rooster. He’s made this sound for a couple of years now - at random times of the day, in various weather conditions - I can’t figure out any type of pattern.

The first few times I heard it, I thought it was the kids behind us 🤣 and then somehow I figured out it was not them, but my rooster!

What the heck does this sound mean? Does anyone else have a crying rooster?

Teachers are so awesome, and they don’t get the respect or salaries that they deserve!!

A friend of mine appreciates the teachers in her kids lives, and each year she treats them to flowers and a bar of soap! I think it’s a wonderful idea and I am happy to help make their day a little brighter 😊

I finally got off my butt and resurrected the newsletter a couple weeks ago! So if you like reading things that were written by an actual human being, and want to know whats happening around here you should totally subscribe. From time to time I do mention the stuff we make and sell but not in a spammy way…more of a “hey, we grew these things and will have them at the market. Or hey, I made a new soap” kind of way. Hey Roanoke! The bouquets have been made and the peas have been picked. Tomorrow is the last day that we will have sunflowers until midsummer - so if you’re a sunny lover make sure to grab a bouquet!!

And if sunflowers aren’t your thing, I’ve got bouquets with ranunculus (this has been an amazing ranunculus season for me) and other flowers for you!!
