Your Voice Matters
Community Survey Launches August 20

The Village of Riverwoods invites all residents to participate in our Community Survey, launching August 20 and closing September 3.

Your feedback will help the Village Board and staff understand community priorities, guide future decisions, and measure how Riverwoods has changed since our last community survey in 2015.

A personalized letter will arrive by mail in mid August with important information about the survey, including instructions and a unique access code to complete the survey online. Your participation will help shape the future of Riverwoods.

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) has issued an air quality alert for today, July 16, 2026, for all Chicago-area forecast sectors. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Lake County is currently Hazardous, the highest reportable air pollution level.
A thick plume of surface smoke is moving in from the Canadian wildfires in the north and is expected to meander in and out of Northern Illinois through Friday, July 17, 2026
How to Stay Safe
With the AQI expected to fluctuate through Friday, residents are encouraged to monitor the current air quality at AirNow.gov. Everyone should stay indoors and reduce activity levels, if possible. This is especially important for sensitive populations, including people with heart or lung disease, older adults, children, and teens. Sensitive individuals should also take special precautions and follow their physician's prescribed regimen. Riverwoods Car Enthusiasts! This Saturday!

The Fourth Annual Cars in the Woods antique, classic, and special interest automobile show, including a tuk tuk, will be on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Riverwoods Village Hall, 300 Portwine Road. Cars arrive 10:00 a.m. and the show is open to the public 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Bring the whole family to Cars in the Woods featuring everything from Fords to Ferraris, MGs to Rolls-Royces, Challengers to Porsches, Harleys to Indians, plus a few Chevys and Corvettes for good measure. Don’t forget your camera to capture the antique and specialty cars, classic trucks, and motorcycles proudly owned by Riverwoods residents.

Also, live music by North Shore Line, a seven-piece classic rock band, and light food fare will be sold by Boy Scout Troop 50.
