In a pack and at home, leadership is not dominance.

It’s direction and protection.
Here’s what that means in real life:

Direction
Don’t leave your dog guessing.
You decide the walk — the pace, the turns, the stops, the greetings.
You go first through doors.
You set the rules, the boundaries, and you follow through calmly every time.
That’s how your dog relaxes and trusts you.

Protection
You don’t throw your dog into situations they can’t handle.
If the energy is too high — a crowded doorway, a pushy dog, a loud environment — you step in first.
You create space. You stay calm.
Your dog learns that they don't have to react because you are in control.
That’s respectful leadership.

Calm. Clear. Consistent.

Murphy! Murphy saw we were doing updates and couldn’t be left out!! From his human family, "He is such an amazing dog! He goes everywhere with us and helps my husband work during the day. He loves going to the dog park and playing with his friends. He especially loves when his kid comes home from college to visit. He is loved and spoiled as ever. In the summer we spend a lot of time on our friend's mountain property hiking and enjoying nature. Murphy is sure to make all trips more fun with his silly antics. He is also extremely protective of all the people he loves. So happy he is a part of our lives."

Murphy is from our 3/31/2022 Tucker x Tessa litter. Looks like he living his best life, for sure!

Karen Warner of Meeteetse, Wyoming recently sent some updated photos of Isla from our 4/5/2022 Tucker x Lucy litter. She added that these pics are "With her best buddies in the world!" and "Please post. Sweetest pup ever and super smart!" Somehow, we're not surprised! We absolutely loved raising these great puppies for such wonderful new owners like you! Thank you for sharing, Karen.

My, look how they've grown! Loretta Boss owns Fly and her son owns Neptune. This family lives on the outskirts of Riverton, Loretta has a very successful dog grooming business (Boss Bark Boutique), and they absolutely love their Shield H Aussies! ❤️

Fly is from our Tucker x Tessa 2/28/2023 litter and Neptune is from our Tucker x Tessa 1/15/2024 litter.

It's been a while since we've posted any updates on our pups, but here is Mollie Davis with her Shield H Aussie, Scotty then and now. Mollie absolutely loves Scotty - he goes everywhere with her!
