Formally welcoming the Pooh crew to the rescue. The babies are still only about 5 weeks old. Which means first vaccines next week. They need at least one booster (2-3 weeks after the first) before any meets can be done. So we will begin to take applications in 2 weeks - May 3rd - so that we can review and then begin setting up meets the weekend of May 17th.

Any applications sent in before May 3rd will need to be resubmitted as we have had a significant number of people indicate they are interested. But there are only 5 puppies. We do not have a “first come first served” process. Each application will be reviewed and placed with who we feel will be best suited for each individual puppy. We do expect that we may receive many more wonderful applications than we have puppies to go around…so please be patient and know we are trying to do best by each puppy.

Also please consider how much easier an adult is… housebroken, crate trained, past the mouthy teething stage…and Hunny is a wonderful girl who also deserves a loving home.

Meet MOSES!! This little man was found as a stray and taken to the shelter. The owner was located and said they wouldn’t be coming for him….but wouldn’t sign a release form causing him to sit at the shelter waiting for his stray hold to be up.

Pictures definitely make him look bigger than he is. Moses is only 5mos old and currently weighs 23lbs. He also still needs to be neutered. But he is the happiest little man. He’s very dog and people friendly, walks well on a leash and is doing great so far in his crate as we work on potty training. He will be current on all vaccines and microchipped before adoption and is already started on monthly preventatives.

SNEAK PEEK!!! This little family was seized by ACO after found outside in a yard. When the shelter reached out we immediately agreed to help. They have now been officially released to us. The mom is the sweetest girl ever (we think 2-3yrs old) and her little babies (3 boys and 2 girls) are about 4 weeks old. We will post updates, including names and when applications will be taken soon!!

Shiv needed a friend her own size…and this little singleton was surrendered all by herself.

Meet lil Peep. She is about 6wks old and 5.5lbs. She will be able to start taking apps and meeting families in a couple of weeks once she has another round of vaccines.

On St Paddy’s day this little girl was found as a stray with what was thought to be a broken leg. She is only about 8wks old and only 5.5lbs but feisty.

She was taken to the local shelter where X-rays indeed confirmed her front left elbow is broken. She’s since had a consultation with an amazing orthopedic surgeon and we are hopeful that she will be able to keep her leg. She will need surgery regardless of which direction we are advised.

She’s seemingly unaware of the fact that her leg is broken and handles steps with ease without using her bad leg. She’s a little shy when she first meets people but is quick to warm up and demand to be picked up. She loves all of the dogs in her foster home and even does great overnight in her pen waiting to potty outside. So we’d like everyone to meet Siobhan (aka lil Shiv).

We will keep everyone updated on next steps for her and when we think she will be ready to start meeting potential families.

Elton is feeling sad that nobody has applied to meet him…. His last sibling leaves tomorrow…. We know there is someone out there for him… he’s almost 4 mos old, neutered, chipped, current on vaccines and on monthly preventatives…. He’s working on house training, loves to play and to get belly rubs. He’s located in West Deptford NJ.

Elton (tan) and Bowie (brown/black) are still waiting to find their forever homes! Both boys are approx 3.5mos old, microchipped, vaccinated and on monthly preventatives. They are scheduled for neuter next week and would love to find their own families! Both are in West Deptford NJ.

THIS….READ IT TWICE!! AND SHARE.

We know it's heartbreaking to have your dog crated ten plus hours, but imagine them being crated for 23 hours or even 24. A lot of shelters and rescues are overwhelmed with owner surrenders right now, but there are tons of things you can do to keep your dog in your house.

You can hire a midday dog walker. You could take your dogs to doggie daycare. There are amazing lick mats and Kongs filled with frozen peanut butter to help entertain and keep your dog calm while you're gone. Ask us about enrichment ideas!

Going back to the office is not an adequate reason to give up on your pet.

Owner surrendered pets are usually the first to be euthanized inside county shelters because they need the space in order to make room for lost dogs. Even if you think your dog will be adopted quickly and could find a better home, that is not usually the case. Please consider all options before surrendering your pet, and think about their best interests. They trust you, they are a member of your family, and they love you unconditionally.

UPDATE: Cher and Mick are pending adoption.

The babies want to know why nobody has adopted them yet??? Mick and Elton (tan and white males), Cher (brown female) and Bowie (brown and black male) are all WAITING!! They are all approx 3 mos old and located in West Deptford NJ.

With the Super Pet Expo not being as successful as in years past due to terrible timing…. We desperately need help with our medical fund! We have 11 puppies that need spay/neuter, vaccines, preventatives and daily care for multiple other dogs in our rescue.

Please check out the Super Bowl pools being run by Lisa Adamek and Kelly Fisherkeller. We have filled one pool and would LOVE to get to 4!! Pool 2 is getting close and we can launch Pool 3 anytime we get close to needing the next.

Bumping for Paxton!!

S.O.S. —- Remember the hippy pigs?? Well poor Paxton has found himself in need of a new home. This gentle giant is an 85lb corso mix. He was born 7/14/22. He is house and crate trained. Very dog friendly - has attended doggy day care without issue. And is also great with all people - adults and kids. He has not been around cats so that is an unknown.

We need a foster (or even better an adopter!!) as his current home is willing to dump him in a shelter if we cannot secure a spot.
