It’s Good Dog Graduation Day for Pearl!🎓

Pearl is the house sister to one of our previous students, Duke. When she joined the pack, Mom and Dad wanted to set her up for success, just like her brother! Pearl came in as an adorable puppy and definitely knew how to use her cuteness to her advantage.

She joined us for our day train program and quickly became a favorite face around here. We focused on building her confidence in tricky situations and turning her into a total rock star with recall.✨️

Pearl gets to enjoy a pretty awesome life, picking on all of her brothers. They definitely needed some girly spice in their lives! She really is such a good girl.

We’re so proud of how she’s been growing up. She’s in her teenage phase now, so there are still a few “middle fingers” to work through, but she’s well on her way to becoming the best dog.

Happy Good Dog Graduation to Reggie!🎓

Reggie’s mom reached out to us because he was having a hard time being a stable foster dog mentor for the new friends spending time in his home. She wanted him to build confidence and gain a better understanding of what Reggie was actually trying to communicate.

Reggie joined us for our Day Train Program. We spent time working on his confidence in being away from his mom and on making the right choices.

Reggie just wanted to be the best boy in the whole land. We focused on communicating in a way that made sense to him and helped him make better decisions, especially when he found himself in situations he did not even enjoy. He was so thankful when we helped him leave an uncomfortable moment all by himself. 🐾

We have loved watching Reggie and his mom connect on a deeper level. Every day, this sweet old man learns new tricks, even if it takes a little while.

We are so proud.

Congratulations to our newest Good Dog Graduates, Opie and Otis!🎓

Opie joined us because his mom was afraid for his life. He was making all sorts of poor decisions. It had gotten to the point where he ended up in the hospital for an obstruction because she couldn't get him to leave anything out of his mouth. And once he got something, he would swallow it whole.

Opie was in full teenage mode. He had been practicing behaviors like reacting poorly to dogs and eating any sock in sight, and he was doing it with some serious intention. We had some big feelings to work through.

Opie’s mom put in the work. She enrolled him in our Day Train program with plans to involve his housemate, Otis, once Opie started making progress.

She loved him so much and hated that he was becoming a danger to himself. She was ready, even though she struggled in the beginning. But the family showed up. The first few classes were tough, with Opie just trying to make it through. His mom trusted the process.

And it worked. Opie is now able to join class and be an active participant around lots of other dogs. He is much more focused on relaxing with his family instead of choosing chaos. 💕

Two-dog households need more time and practice to connect the dots. The first step in training is simply showing up. Opie and Otis’s mom is dedicated to the work, and they are getting better every single day, even with those classic teenage flare-ups.

We are so excited for Opie and Otis to join our Better Dog Membership and keep building momentum in the right direction. We have big goals, like off-leash freedom, and this is the perfect time to keep pushing forward. We cannot wait to continue this journey!

We are celebrating our April 2025 Graduating
Class! Happy Good Dog Graduation Day to our newest official Good Dog, Raul! 🎓

Raul’s family came to us because he was displaying some alarming behaviors at home that made them feel unsafe. This is an unfortunate reality for dogs who have shown multiple signs of aggression. Once trust is broken, it can be incredibly difficult to rebuild.

But Raul’s mom was up to the task. She knew he wasn’t going to be one of those social butterflies who is friends with everyone. Not even close. Still, she wanted to build a routine that would help him feel safe anywhere, as long as they do it together.💕

It took a few adjustments and some personalized tools, but they made incredible strides. Raul can now have company over without it feeling like the end of the world. He’s able to be part of family gatherings, and even though he’s not the center of attention, he’s happier that way.

We are so proud of Raul and his family. With structure in place, he’s feeling so much better and can enjoy being around others without feeling or acting threatened. We can’t wait to watch this amazing bond continue to flourish.
