Remembering Goldtown Goldie - A Logyard Legend
2013-2025
With heavy hearts, ARF is sad to announce the passing of former ARF dog and foster fail, Goldtown Goldie, on November 5, 2025. For all of you who followed her story, she was dubbed the Logyard Diva and the Ghost Dog of Goldtown who was on the lam for 3 years before finally being captured by ARF on April 02, 2017.
Shortly after her capture she had two back to back cancer surgeries (One at OSU) and was a trooper through it all. She bounced back and became a couch pototato at home and a very important ARF volunteer by participating in fundraisers, passing out her Pawtographed pictures, welcoming new ARF foster dogs into her home and showing them the ropes. Goldie never knew a stranger, either two legged or 4 legged, and was without a doubt one of the sweetest and fluffiest dogs ever.
Goldie's image is on our ARF van and her legacy will live on as she continues her travels with every transport. She will watch over all of the rescue dogs and assure them they are headed for a new and better life.
We would like to thank Jackson Animal clinic for being so incredibly awesome and for helping us keep Goldie comfortable through her final weeks. We would also like to thank the Goldtown community and the log yard fellas for all of the Wendy Burgers, french fries and sandwiches you gave her to keep her safe and off of the Interstate until she could be captured. If not for you, she would not have survived.
Goldie, your heart was strong but your body finally gave out. GOSH do we miss you! You were so very LOVED and we appreciate you sharing your life with us. RIP sweet girl ...
For anyone thinking of fostering a dog, please know how rewarding it can be for both the human and the dog. If you can open your home and your heart to just one rescue dog, please message ARF or the Jackson County Animal Shelter. We are always in need.
