‼️CALL TO ACTION for "WV safe outdoor dogs act"bill‼️

Fellow Animal Lovers this is what we need right now: RELENTLESS CALLS to Senator Willis, he is the chair of the judiciary committee which is where SB 867 “the WV safe outdoor dogs act” is currently sitting. If we make enough noise he may notice this bill & put it on their agenda. If not it dies & we will have to try again next year. These outdoor dogs cannot wait until next year.

It’s super simple: CALL EVERYDAY!!
304-357-7867

This is all you have to say:

I'm requesting Sen Willis to put SB867 on Judiciary committee calender. Thank you!”

It takes 30 seconds. You make get voicemail, that's ok too!

WE NEED HUNDREDS OF CALLS!! This will not be easy! IF this bill get a majority vote in this committee it will have to pass through 2 more committees then go to the House & through the same process. We have a very long way to go but it is possible if we all make this a priority for the next couple weeks. Once the session is over, they are done with legislation until next year.

Introducing DELIAH at Jackson County Animal Shelter!

This beauty is available for adoption is she is the perfect package. OK...this package is big, Deliah weighs in at 103 lbs, but she is a Mastiff afterall. She has very good manners: she walks well on a leash, is not a barker (pretty quiet actually) and does well with other dogs. Deliah is already spayed. She does chase chickens though. Stop by the Jackson County Animal Shelter if you'd like to meet her or give them a call --304 372-6064-- during business hours to get more information about this sweet gal.

Let's find her a home for Christmas!

‼️🐾The shelter could use your help‼️

Currently there are 99 dogs and more than 30 cats being cared for at the Jackson County Animal Shelter. That’s a lot of cleaning!
They are in need of:

✔️bleach
✔️Dawn dish soap
✔️newspapers
✔️laundry soap

If you can, stop by with a donation. It would be much appreciated!

ARF has many things for which to be thankful this Thanksgiving holiday! One of them is our wonderful adopters! We try to match our little orphan dogs to families that can help them thrive. Maggie is definitely thriving! She celebrated her first "Gotcha" Day with a big party at her doggie day care. She loves her home, her day care, her trainer, her new toys and sweater, and the pup cups her mommy and daddy get her. (She's learned the word "pup cup" even when they spell it!) After a fun day of play, she likes to snuggle up with dad for a nap on the couch. Some might say that she's a little spoiled, but seeing our dogs be spoiled makes ARF members really happy! Congratulations, Maggie, on landing a home where you are understood, your needs are met, you get time and attention,, and you're enjoying life. Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Gotcha Day, you lucky girl!

Remembering Goldtown Goldie - A Logyard Legend
2013-2025

With heavy hearts, ARF is sad to announce the passing of former ARF dog and foster fail, Goldtown Goldie, on November 5, 2025. For all of you who followed her story, she was dubbed the Logyard Diva and the Ghost Dog of Goldtown who was on the lam for 3 years before finally being captured by ARF on April 02, 2017.

Shortly after her capture she had two back to back cancer surgeries (One at OSU) and was a trooper through it all. She bounced back and became a couch pototato at home and a very important ARF volunteer by participating in fundraisers, passing out her Pawtographed pictures, welcoming new ARF foster dogs into her home and showing them the ropes. Goldie never knew a stranger, either two legged or 4 legged, and was without a doubt one of the sweetest and fluffiest dogs ever.

Goldie's image is on our ARF van and her legacy will live on as she continues her travels with every transport. She will watch over all of the rescue dogs and assure them they are headed for a new and better life.

We would like to thank Jackson Animal clinic for being so incredibly awesome and for helping us keep Goldie comfortable through her final weeks. We would also like to thank the Goldtown community and the log yard fellas for all of the Wendy Burgers, french fries and sandwiches you gave her to keep her safe and off of the Interstate until she could be captured. If not for you, she would not have survived.

Goldie, your heart was strong but your body finally gave out. GOSH do we miss you! You were so very LOVED and we appreciate you sharing your life with us. RIP sweet girl ...

For anyone thinking of fostering a dog, please know how rewarding it can be for both the human and the dog. If you can open your home and your heart to just one rescue dog, please message ARF or the Jackson County Animal Shelter. We are always in need.
